Creaking/knocking noise - passenger rear

Has anyone else experienced a creaking/knocking sound from the passenger rear area?

just started happening about two weeks ago, car as 25k miles.

typically it makes the sound when the car shifts momentum upon acceleration or around turns.
has been annoying the hell out of me.

not sure if this is in relation but I occasionally have a rattling sound also around the rear window.

I thought the creaking could have been maybe something in the trunk or the seatbelt but neither seemed to be the case.

I thought the rattling could've been loose components in the back seat latch or the rear speaker/sub but those were also ruled out.

any info helps!

Might be related to the rear passenger side clunk many of us have also experienced.

No such issue, but I only have 6500 miles. Could be a loose suspension part. Take it to the dealer and have them check it over. If it's easy to hear, have a mechanic ride with you.

Probably a long shot but the styrofoam like tray in the trunk does make a creaking noise, especially in warmer weather. I do hear it over the radio.

Passenger side rear squeak

Solved a rear passenger side squeak by lubricating the top mount of the front passenger seatbelt with spray lubricant. Was a high pitched squeaking sound now its gone.

I have had the clunk for a year or so... 20,000 miles on car now. I believe it has to do with the CV axle splines and wheel hub interface. Too much play in something rotational. It's not the suspension.

It, very slowly, will get move prevalent and is annoying as hell if you keep listening for it.

A new thrust washer may fix it, or maybe CV axles and wheel bearings.??

I’ve recently had some kind of a body creak pop up, mostly on take offs but it’s definitely progressed and gotten louder. Gonna check the rear suspension bushings myself, highly doubt the dealer would be willing to put any real effort into a noise like that. It’s annoying, and frustrating to spend 50k on a car that creaks...

some more info here : https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showt...t=creak&page=4

It goes as far as missing spotwelds on the body panels.
Hope it helps,
Nick

its not that easy in my area, the rear end groan took 12 different trips and ride alongs to have them attempt ONE flush. GM was involved as my rear end grinds now and they still didn't do anything but offer a warranty.

ill be trying a new dealer and hope they can get this squared away.

OP, did you ever figure this out? I feel like I have the same Creaking/ticking kind of noise from the rear trunk area accompanied by an occasional rattling sound near rear window. Drives me crazy that it's so hard to have this car stop making all kinds of annoying noises at once, something or the other keeps popping up, so frustrating...

I’m surprised I didn’t know this was a thing, I have a noise similar to rattling at my rear passenger. Noise increases with the back seats down. Thought maybe a clip is loose and is rattling in its hole
