DRL - Some LEDs are out

So I noticed today while stopped behind a pickup, that my DRL on the driver side looked like it had a gap between the LEDs. When I got to work I did a visual check and sure enough it seems like 2 of them are out. One in the middle and one on the edge. Going to take it in next week for warranty replacement. Has anyone have any of their LEDs go out on the DRLs?

Dealer said it was ok. I told them about the gap in the LEDs and they said that the other LEDs were working and lit the DRL sufficiently so they would not replace it. Going to buy one on eBay and switch it out on my own.

Your dealer is on crack. I would definitely not accept that as an answer. With any other product this would be grounds for replacement. I would swing into another dealer and gripe. We don't pay this kind of money to have parts go out year 2.

Agreed. I wouldn't take no for an answer. It's messed up. Fix it.

Either that... Or upgrade to color change DRLs from Oracle.

If it's not 100% conformity to manufacturer specification they have to replace it. 98% of your light working is not good enough. Legally they have to fix it, whether they want to do it or not, they are bound to a legal contract and your warranty specifies 100% conformity.

I would go to another dealer as any dealer that brushes you off after buying a new car is just trouble.

I'll post a pic tomorrow and you guys let me know if I'm just being too picky about it.

The dealer doesn't get to make that call! File a complaint with GM about the defect AND the dealer attitude.

I think if your going to repace it yourself, which I hope you don't have to, the front cap has to come off to get to them.

You are correct. I tried to access it through the front wheel well, but cannot remove it. When I take it in for its next oil change I'll complain about it again and see what they do.

That is exactly why the dealer doesn't want to replace it.

That is uncool. Really uncool. I can give many scenarios were this would not apply. Is radio working sufficiently? How about suspension? How about engine? That is nonesense.
