6 speed problem, 2021 1LE 400 miles

Anyone else have an issue downshifting 5th to 4th (rev match) getting locked out for a moment? Every other hard downshift no issues whatsoever. Brand new 2021-400 miles

well this wont help but, no. i have a 2021 manual 1LE with 485 miles. i did the rev match on the test drive when it had 3 miles on it but i dont drive with it on. sometimes i blip myself on the downshift for fun but i havent ran it hard yet. the rev match seems pretty dumb so if you dont really need a blip and the rev match is on, maybe its doing too much of a blip?

OP, you need to be more clear about the problem you are having. Is it that you aren't able to shift the trans into 4th from 5th? Or is it that the shifter moves through the gate well enough, but the rev match function isn't working?

Also, you say "hard downshifting" which implies moving the stick quickly. If your problem is the stick not moving through the gate (others have noted this on other threads), and assuming that the trans has warmed up, the problem could be the way in which you are grabbing the shifter with your hand. You may need to try letting it center after moving out of 5th and then pulling straight back. Search previous threads. There seems to be a bit of art to smooth shifting this trans. I haven't had these issues yet with my 2021, but have read and followed what others have suggested, as it's been many years since I last drove a manual and have no previous experience with a TR6060.

Been driving gm 6spds for 25 yrs now, but back in the late 90's when I first started driving Trans-Am and Camaro 6spds, the gates being much tighter I found myself coming down between gears and if felt like a "lock-out". Took a while, but doesn't happen anymore.

it may just be the way you are grabbing the shifter. Look at youtube vids on proper way to hold the shifter. Its kinda hard to explain but they drilled it into my head when I went to Ron Fellows driving school. Gently push with your palm or pull with your fingers but in no way should you be wrapping your hand around the shift knob

You need to learn how the pattern works in your car. Miles will help.

This.
More like requesting a gear rather than demanding a gear.
I've found that using the shifters natural actions helps.

Fifth to fourth. Pull shifter down out of fifth, the shifter naturally centers below third and above fourth, so just pull down again and you have fourth.

Almost like this.....
