1le as a Daily Driver, Summer Tires? in CA winter
If you buy this oneLE take deliver in Fall and have summer only tires? * I'm in California Eastbay winter isn't anything but a bit of light rain? how bad is it to use those tires? should I plan on an immediate second set?

For us Northeastern folks, how much would a set of dedicated winter tires and rims effect drivablity? I plan on getting a set Bridgestone Blizzak WS80s on 18s all around. I know that would put a damper on performance but would it be a good and safe choice for winter?

I drive my 1LE year round. It can get in the low 40s, high 30s over night here but I've never had any issues.

OP: More than likely you will be just fine, but as stated, that depends on how cold it gets down too. Most winter tire manufacturers recommend they're installed at 45 degrees or below.... even when its dry. I say feel em out, if they make you uncomfortable, then look into a nice set of all seasons.
Gen5er: Blizzak WS80's are great for the more severe weather, but if you're more concerned with winter driving performance, I'd recommend looking into the Blizzak LM-32, Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 or Pirelli Winter Sottozero Series 2 (if they're available in a suitable size). |
