Pretty sure VIR was repaved a few years ago. The 1LE puts up great numbers, but comparing to cars which ran at a different time and especially before the repaving doesn't make any sense.

I believe that the V6 1LE is basically a SS, but with a v6. They said "no new parts" for the v6, that's how they made it possible.

It shows both how great the Camaro setup is and how average the Mustang is.

ok so it doesn't beat them, but it is close enough that we're talking about it. thats good enough for me at $45k vs $80+.

Plus theres no doubt at this point that the 1LE would wreck an M4

They are in full denial and excuse mode over at the other forum. The 1LE trounced their PP GT by 10.xx seconds or eternity, and more importanty IMO it smokes the GT by nearly a 1/2 second in the 1/4 mile. It will surely run with the base GT350 and maybe run down a track pack as well. Then the other bad news that the GT350R couldn't match the Z/28's time. Not a good day for Ford. Suddenly the conversation is now wait for the GT500.

*yes, I know VIR was repaved in 2014 but that still puts a good idea on how much the new hardware really improves the 1LE.

That is a tenth...decimal placement is very important.

It was 10.xx seconds.

Who is the driver for the lightning laps? Motor trend uses Pobst at laguna seca and for some reason the camaro seems to do better compared to the competition when he drives. The 1LE did good in the lightning laps, but after all the hype from the best drivers lap times, I expected the 1LE to be at an even higher level. Maybe my expectations were too high. I thought it would be faster than the corvette or a little closer to the Z28. Still a super fast car for the money. Just look at the cost of the cars it runs with. Impressive.

It's right where it needs to be. It's on a much longer track. I bet if he Gt350 was tested it would be right here with it as well as the tp.

Very impressive for the 1LE with both engines, impressive GT350R time as well.

But the really impressive thing, is the Grand Sport Corvette. DAMN that thing was flying

I know right? I immediately went to the corvette build site to see if I could afford one with the Z07 package.....and now I'm sad
