supercharge whine

I have just over 18,000 miles on the beast. it seems to me that the super charge whine is louder. I hear it during normal driving now. I never did before.
It could be that I don't play the radio sometimes. I am getting older....I imagine that my kids say that they miss and love me too, so it can certainly just be in my head :-)

Have yall noticed a difference after some miles have been stacked on?

8000 miles here and noticed increased acceleration intake sound at a local fast food drive though today. The factory exhaust is getting louder with mileage... starting to sound better

Keep an eye out for this
Mine started getting louder and I thought cool. Then over another 500 miles it kept getting louder and louder. Finally I took it to the shop and one of the smaller pulleys had the bearings going out and had to be replaced.

Mize442, this was my motivation for asking.

It's due for an oil change. I will have them check it out. My service dept is top notch

Should be able to loosen belt and check the snout for play.. in or out side to side!

I have noticed mine has to do with heat the hotter the louder which makes sense if the rotors have less clearance from expansion when hot. Or another theory after a while the coating wears on the rotors and I'm sure the coating is used for lube and to make the tolerance tighter.. metal on metal may expand more when hot giving more whine.

I noticed at cfest on the road course track standing on the roof the whine would get louder and louder as they made more laps on zl1's and zl1 1le's.

I second this. My engine starting making a high pitched whine at roughly 7500 miles. Turned out the supercharger idler pulley had a bad bearing.

Do the rotors actually touch? I always thought they kept a super small gap between them. Looks like it would be catastrophic if they touched. Like they would start building tons of heat until melt down and you'd have metal dust being forced into the engine from the rotors wearing against one another.

If the idler pulley starts making more noise, I am going to assume it's under warranty to fix or will the stealership allow it to be fixed?

Had no issue getting the bad idler pulley covered under warranty.

I’ve noticed mine is louder as well. I’ve only have 2500 or so miles on mine but definitely has gotten louder with more miles.
