I’m going to do this for all oil changes from now on

I was watching a YouTube video about why it’s better to prefill your oil filter before installing at oil changes (which I always do). One of the other recommendations was to pour some clean oil into the engine then drain it to flush the bottom of the pan. I tried this today and was surprised by how much dirty oil came out. There was more than what is seen in the photo, it took some time to find my phone and take the picture. This was after letting the car drain overnight.

I have a case of 5-30 synthetic left over from another vehicle that I use after draining to do a flush just like you describe, I also pre fill my filters at install
