That's what I'm looking for as well. The Wild Cherry in Florida is also a manual, but I figured it was already spoken for. If my SS was a manual, I'd most likely keep it, although at 5 years, this is the longest that I've kept a vehicle in a long time. I'm ready to get back to rowing my own gears. |

Manual? Automatic? Nothing on our side of the country, but if you plug in 20715 into Chevy's own inventory tracking site, I see 4+ closer to the east coast. All in-transit. Some or all may be spoken for.

Thanks for posting the rapid blue pics. I wanted a new color (have ashen gray metallic) and wash torn between rapid blue with red seatbelt (Superman look!) and vivid orange metallic. Went with Vivid O and glad I did. idk if I could look at that rapid blue everyday although I do like it on the C8 Vettes. Take that with a grain of salt as I am technically colorblind!!

Just yanking your chain. It's ok. Go to chevy's website. At the top, hover over "Shopping", and then "View Inventory". Expand your search radius to the max (2000 miles is the max, so not quite the entire CONUS - hence, multiple zip codes to check the other side of the Country. 20715 is near Washington DC) After that, start adding your requirements! Under Trim, pick ZL1 - pick Rapid Blue for your color, of course - and under Packages, look for the "ZL1 1LE Extreme Track Performance Package" toward the bottom. For transmissions, it's under "Powertrain" on the left - BUT BE WARNED: if you want a stick, their system is STUPID and all depends on the person entering this info properly. I found MANY "manuals" that were actually automatics. Easy way to determine this, is if you see the "Paddle Shift Automatic" option when you click into the car. Note that it'll show "exact matches" first, and then it'll find the "next best thing" after that. It might be missing the color, or the transmission, or one option package - who knows. Enjoy! This will show you who has some already there, or inbound!

Sounds stupid but does in transit literally mean it’s on a truck OR does it mean it could still be sitting at the plant getting ready to leave?

Means it's probably anywhere in the process of waiting to be loaded onto a train or truck.

Prior to picking up the truck at the beginning of this year, I had a 2019 RS5 with paddle shifters. Before that I had a 2017 F80 M3 with 6-speed. Admittedly, I just never felt as "connected" to the RS5 as I did with the M3. I strongly attribute that to the manual transmission. There's just something about rowing your own gears that takes a sports car to the next level, at least for me. Since this next car will be strictly a weekend canyon cruiser and occasional track toy, I want it to be as pure as possible. Especially because I fear that the days of being able to buy a true manual V8 sport car are coming to an abrupt end. |

Yeah, and if the EVs are about to take over, I don't want to be in the position I was with my SS, looking all over the U.S. for a manual transmission. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to hold onto the SS as it is IMO the ultimate touring vehicle. You can crank up the noise to Camaro SS volumes, and when you get near 5.0, dial it down and drive past them unnoticed. To the un-initiated, it's an unassuming rental car, but to the enthusiast it's "that thing from down under!" But, it doesn't make sense to me to have both the SS and the ZL1. I mean I could just as well get rid of my truck, but what little utility I get from the SS, there would be even less utility in the ZL1. I'm actually going to vet the person that is interested in the SS to make sure that they'll at least try to take care of it like I did. |
