Road Atlanta , limp mode
Went to Road Atlanta Sunday for a Chin track day , it was extremely hot in the mid 90s and humid.
The car went into limp mode on my 1st session my second lap in Code was P00EA on a snap on code reader (intake air temp (IAT)sensor3 circuit low voltage (system00) After clearing the code, I went out for the second session and the same result. Cleared the code again and took it on the street and all was good with a hard full throttle pull thru 4 gears and no code or loss of power . Session 3 same issue almost immediately went into limp mode (not fun taking half the back strait to pass a Miata lol) I have the weapon x triple upgraded intercoolers , lower pulley making around 11 lbs of boost, Rotofab big gulp, TM ported throttle body, catch can , headers and green cats with stock muffler. oil pressure , oil temp and coolant temp were all good . we checked the connections on the rotoscoped fab intake pipe all seemed good? Drove the car from RA back to Kennesaw ,ran it pretty hard with no issues or code. Kind of baffeling why it shuts down on track and not on the street, maybe its the longer duration of WOT on the track? looking to see if someone else has experienced this or knows more about that code and what it actually is that may be throwing it . Thanks for any help. |

Likely an improper bleed of the intercooler circuit if there is no reservoir.

I see your list of mods, however I don't see a tune listed. Forgot to list that maybe? If you have one, I'd start with pulling logs.

Vengeance racing did the mods including adding the weapon x triple intercoolers I actually did bring up others that have had issues with air in the system causing an overheating condition they assured me that they have done many LT4 upgrades and it is bled correctly but worth checking again thanks

While the circumstances a certainly compelling, that fault code suggests an electrical problem with the sensor, not a high temp condition.
My guess is a loose plug or bad sensor. Check the connection. |

After researching the code a bit, I concur. Logs may also show unusual IAT that trigger limp mode. Sensors go bad, connections get wonky, it happens. |

Please update when you find the cause. Our builds are very similar and done by vengeance. I am adding the heat exchangers to combat the very thing you’re suffering from at RA. I am planning hpde at barber in August and November. I don’t want to have the same experience!
