Catback exhaust installation 2018 ss

Hello everybody,

sooo I installed a catback MBRP exhaust system on my 2018 ss with NPP.
I had the 2 NPP valves on the muffler and then the 2 AFM valves on the tubes between x pipe and muffler.
What I am wondering is that is it okay to leave the AFM valves disconnected? Maybe plug them in but tuck them away? Would that be safe if I am lying to the system? So engine thinks it's doing the back pressure it needs when it is not.
Another idea I was thinking about is to cut the old section of the exhaust that contains the AFM valves and have that installed on the new exhaust inline. With that I don't know if it would work properly based on the design and the piping on the new MBRP exhaust.

Please let me know any ideas/suggestions would help.
Thanks.

You can't just remove the AFM most of these systems specifically say that or not for AFM or something of that sort or for manual trans only, AFM have to be tuned out thru the ECU IIRC.

Plug them in and tuck them away, so you don't throw a code. Or have them welded in to the new exhaust.

AFM valves are really only there to cover up the sound from going into V4 mode.

I have the same setup. In your package, it should have came with two metal plates that you bolt the valves onto. The plates then bolt in near where the connectors are, using stock bolts.

Thank you so much everybody.
I ended up buying an afm disabler, and made brackets for the afm valves and mounted them just behind the gas tank.
