That fellow from Smoking Tire when he reviewed the 2017 SS 1LE he said the same thing lol. "What an amazing car this is". I picked mine up this last saturday and it is indeed an exceptional vehicle. Still breaking her in though

I really like my 2017, but honestly not sure if I would buy it again..

I have:
NPP exhaust replaced
A8 trans shutter, and fluid flushes
paint flaws / body panel alignment
tons of squeaks / rattles / odd noises
random odd mylink / electrical stuff

Lot of quality control stuff that I wish GM would just fix - its not like they haven't been making cars for over 100 years...

I added this to my 17 Fifty Anniversary SS with exhaust controller.

Leave the exhaust closed in stealth mode and have the forza programed through my homelink to open/close on command.

Agree, am enjoying mine more than I thought I would, wanted a 2SS over the 1SS mostly because of the HUD, but I really like all to 2SS options, vent seats, BSM, and even the disco lights.

Quality control sucks. But I knew that before buying it lol. Its just a great car. Great value. I've had quality issues with BMW, and my buddy with Mercedes, so I dont think buying a more expensive car necessarily will mean 100% trouble free. The only cars I haven't had issues with yet over multiple generations is Honda (Legend, Accord, civic etc.). Then again, there are several civic type-r owners with quality control issues, though mine has been perfect so far, touchwood. Even my "cheap, but reliable" Hyundai Sonata had quality control issues with door window regulators and such.

Oh well, such is life. Enjoying it for now, until the next dealer/stealer visit

You have a perfect CTR? Didn't think that existed, lol. Seems like almost all of them have at least the gear grind issue which Honda is trying their best to sweep under the rug. You better knock on wood.

Lol. Only the ones with the grinding issue complain. There are 100s of others that don't have the issue and don't bother posting on online forums. Just like the A8 issues on the camaro

I guess my point was every manufacturer will have some quality control issues, the key is how they handle such issues. BMW, personal experience, is bad. Hyundai is decent. Honda is fine. GM, the jury is still out, depending on how they handle my A8 when I can replicate the shudder at will. They were 50-50 on my GTO.

My car is tight, no rattles and great paint. The MRC is great.

my 6th gen is a weekend warrior....or whenever i travel south to see my daughter and grandson in houston. really surprised about the quality issues and concerns. no issues with mine, fast as sin but comfortable, super gas mileage for a hot rod. i test drove a zl-1 and absolutely loved it.....but i am old and would never use/benefit from the extra 200 horses.

5th gen...well, big, heavy, loud, love the side to side vibration at the stop light (reminds me of my uncles 69 SS with a huge cam), heavy clutch, slick M6....just a beast. my grandson will love it when he turns 16!

My 2018 SS 1LE is so nice I could spend all day just driving around. The Recaro seats are very comfortable .

I knew the rattles and QA issues going in. I mean, come on, it's a Chevy which isn't exactly known for perfection despite what the real people and awards commercials tell ya. In fact, the only Chevys I would ever buy are the Camaro or Corvette.

Chevys have come a long way though and the 6th gen materials and quality are much much better than previously.

I love my '18 1SS 1LE, and is a fantastic performance car which is why I bought one. That said, it doesnt feel that fast to me. Sure, it handles like a super car, but it really isn't that fast, or more accurately, it doesnt feel that fast to me. It feels heavy and a bit under powered despite the way it handles. It is a fairly heavy car, so kudos to the Engineers for designing it to handle the way it does despite the heft.

I've had and built some fast cars, so my idea of speed may be different. I just thought that 455hp and the accompanying torque would feel quicker off the line. I've had cars with 360 hp or less that felt quicker. Again, all relative because those were lighter cars.

Maybe I need a ZL1!

Overall, it's a great car. Not the fastest, not the highest quality, not the best looking, but an excellent overall package especially when the value per dollar is factored in.
