Simply stated that green is horrible and what kind of excitement does it generate for me? Uh "Just say no to baby sh!t green."
It’s not greenand not even close... It’s highlighter yellow.... I for one think the Camaro needs more bright eye catching hues. This color matches the fun nature of Camaro and fits right in with the new Orange Crush! By the way yellow and orange cars have higher used car resale values than black and white cars, and that is a fact....

The average car looses 33.1 percent of its value after three years, but yellow cars are down just 27 percent over that time. Orange and green cars, loosing about 31 percent, also hold value better than average. The most popular new-car colors -- black, white and silver -- show about average depreciation. The scarcity of cars in bright colors may have something to do with that. "Yellow cars are relatively less common, which could drive up demand and help maintain their value," said Phong Ly, CEO of iSeeCars.com. While yellow slows depreciation on convertibles and other sporty cars, it also provides the highest used-car values on SUVs and pickups. Ly said it's not surprising that the most popular new-car colors show about average depreciation. "Because white, black and gray are so common, buyers can shop around more easily if they're interested in these colors, reducing the amount of pricing power for dealers. Interestingly, colors that hold their value well aren't the fastest to sell. Yellow cars average 41.5 days on the market, orange 38.1 and green 36.2. The average car sells after being listed for 36.5 days. To compile this research iSeeCars.com analyzed 2.1 million three-year-old used cars that sold between September 2016 and August 2017. Depreciation was calculated by comparing the used-car listed price with the original new-car manufacturer's suggested retail price.

I agree.... Most people tend to be more conservative when making a large purchase, however these bright colors turn heads and fit the fun nature of the car. There is always going to be someone looking for yellow or orange as it is something different, which is why the bright colors tend to hold their value better as a used car. Simply supply and demand, there are plenty black, white, silver and gray but not too many yellow and orange.....

I went through the build my own Camaro process on the Chevrolet site for 2019 and did not see this shock color as an option for any of the engine/trim levels, so I tried a few builds on the 2018 and no shock yellow/green color.

2020?

Just read the first line of the press release in the OP
"DETROIT — Chevrolet today previewed a new Shock yellow exterior color for the 2019 Camaro. It will be available in early 2019."
