ZLE Weights

Let's see what your car weighs. This morning at the track mine weighed:

3742# w/2 gal. fuel and no driver

Correction: I did not have the car in exactly the right spot on the scales. It weighs 3742 w/o driver and with 2 gal. Doing my Kooks axle back next week should take it down near 3700.

Kooks dropped it to 3728 on NHRA national event scales (all weights are approx.)

You sure that's right? I thought my stock C5 SS manual was about that weight? Auto or convertible and you were pushing 4000lbs. ZL1s were 4200 and almost 4400 at convertible auto and all options.

Lol. Yea. NHRA scales at a big event and that will handle the Mile High National in 2 weeks.

Gasoline is about 6 lbs. a gallon. 20 gallon tank = 120 lbs.

According to GM yes. Regular zl1 Auto was like 3880. My 2ss 1le manual is 3762, 1ss 1le about 15 lbs lighter. A regular zl1 auto with sunroof like 4005.

8lbs is the weight difference between a Gen 6 1SS and 2SS 1LE, according to the shipping weights.

I was talking about the Gen 5 cars and that was probably confusing some.

Cool, I read was about 15 lbs difference, but not much. I always wondered which was the accurate one. Printed gm data, or the door sticker. Door sticker less max cargo, seems to be about 40 lbs more then gm states.
If that car is a fifth gen, it must have had weight reduction, they are heavier. My 2012 2ss , by the door sticker was about 100lbs heavier. My friends fifth gen zl1 vert weighed 4400!

I haven't abandoned this thread, it's just that there's nothing more for me to say - the car weighs the weight I stated.

It will be lighter shortly after I replace the suitcase with Holley pipes.

This is mine at a local highway truck scale. 1750kg is 3858lbs which is very close to the GM advertised spec.
