I'm 200 and love mine. Every other vehicle I ride in or drive feels like crap now. **OH, and I have a broken tailbone and MANY car seats cause me discomfort.

It's interesting how people react differently to the same thing. I'm 6' about 165 lbs. The seats in my 1LE fit me like a glove.

maybe good incentive to drop some lb's? That seat is awesome at about 200 lbs.

Option one, if it's possible for you, you honestly need to lose some weight, one car guy to another.
Option two, you need to find a real upholstery shop, like old school that can do anything. They should be able to help you out or tell you where to go. |

I am 6'2" and have been between 240-270 lbs and these Recaros are probably the second or tied with second best I have owned. My best were the full manual ones in my Evo IX MR. The Camaros probably better then my Evo X MR. By far the worst were the Focus RS ones.
These seem to fit me well, and the sides dont stick up so much that people get impaled in butt when they try to get in like some others I have had. |

At 6'2" and 290lbs, these things are the best seats I've ever used. I love them. |

The 1LE/ZL1 seats are clearly better, but either everyone tracks these cars hard or the internet's massive amplification factor is at work here, too. I sat in a couple ZL1s, and the difference between those Recaros and the leather 2SS seats isn't "night and day" for spirited street driving and canyon carving.
A road course is altogether different, but then again, reading these topics, it appears as if we witnessed the "redemption" of the performance car world with these seats.

One of the more comfortable seats I've sat in, which doesn't mean much of anything, were in the '04-'06 GTO's.
Not a track, or even a sport seat, but they were comfortable.

I had read reviews of various Camaro seats by the media about support \ comfort etc. and I had some concerns about them (I was then 5' 10' and 235 lbs.) reading that they just don't support that well, aren't that comfortable and so on. I researched bad reviews vs. good reviews and watched many track videos. The reviewers \ drivers who liked the seats and felt they had good support didn't have 30 lbs. of belly fat flopping around in the front of the seat. As an experiment in the interest in good health and enjoying my ZL1 more, I lost 40 lbs. and can testify that the seats are awesome for me now. Snug fit, great bolstering and much easier to drive my Camaro fast. The seats and how much you like them seems to depend on your body type \ size and that was consistent with the media who reviewed these cars. The "husky" guys had less favorable reviews of the seats. Chevrolet \ Recaro design for the masses.

Maybe Chevy should take a page out of the Honda nomenclature and offer the Camaro SS "type H" for our more generously proportioned Camaro fans.

Common denominator in this thread is that a lot of us 1LE owners have some wide arses.......
