Shifter Lights Not On

Hey all, I've got a '16 V6 RS automatic and have only had it for a few days. I just noticed that the lights that indicate Park, Neutral, Drive , +\- next to the shift lever never light up. My dealer told me they only do on the SS. This immediately sounded like BS. Can anyone confirm?

When the car is turned on, they should light up.

Thanks for that photo - exactly what I was hoping for. I'm interested in seeing the dealership's response.

Some dealers can be sofa king lazy, i swear... All models light up. Try again. I would have called them on that and asked them to test it on another v6 on their lot and see for yourself. I definitely smell bs.

If you go back to the same dealer after the response you received the first time, you're asking for trouble.

I would find a competent dealership and forget the clowns who told you that your gear selector lights only operate on the SS trim.

They never light up AT ALL? Def something wrong.

And find another dealer or bring this to the service managers attention.

They probably only heard the word 'lights' and immediately started referencing the door/dash/cupholder lighting; they zoned out when you went on to say that it was for your shift lights. Typical

I checked mine, the lights work as you would expect them too.

Count me in, they went dark this morning, but came back at lunch. These issues only get worse.
