No doubt. I'm still not sure exactly what causes that bog, but it seems to be avoidable depending on technique. Either faster clutch engagement or easier on the gas pedal...

Does anyone know if the aftermarket throttle controllers get rid of this issue?

Sorry for the OT!

Horsepower is the most addicting drug there is.

You will keep chasing more and more.
I have seen people go broke chasing numbers.
Sometimes you just have to say enough is enough but that is hard to do if you are young and full of Testosterone!

ZL1

Same suspension.

My Buddy was suggesting get an SS then supercharge it if needed. But then it would overheat and overpower the trans, rear end, ect....

Plus I wanted the A10 to daily drive. Love my ZL1. Staying stock and have not had a not enough power issue. Time for smog? no problem....

I've found that a heavier right foot and some sacrificing of the clutch slip works the best in most situations. On hills, I probably burn the clutch a little too much (honestly, not comfortable with using the clutch like I do in this car from a stop regardless) but the car doesn't bog or stall that way. Reversing up my driveway hill with a light foot results in stalling the car once I try to get over the curb.

It's honestly much more of a chore to drive the ZL1 than the SS ever was. In the SS, I could just drive it like every other manual car i've ever had. The ZL1 I'm breaking my normal routine and abusing the clutch more than I'm used to just to make sure it doesn't bog or stall out. One of the only things I will not miss about the car.

Even the SS can't be pushed to its full potential on the street for the most part. But that depends on location of course. Those living out where long open stretches of road are the normal commute can definitely push it. And anyone who owns an SS is guilty when an opportunity like that comes along. I don't condone street racing and don't participate (I did when I was younger and much less responsible), but let's be honest, most on here didn't by the SS to drive like a little old lady.

I haven't driven a Zl1, but I've driven a car with boost, and it's a different beast altogether in terms of power delivery. That burst of extra power in the rev range is addicting. If I had the funds, I'd definitely go the ZL1 route. How it performs on the street is up to you.

More power.
They hold their value better.

SS is lots of power for the street imo. For those who always need more I'd seriously consider a dedicated track car to put that money and effort into.

I'm not sure why you pulled the trigger on it then unless you were planning to add boost.

Adding a supercharger will help. Of course, you'll still need to say when enough is enough.

I pretty much demand 1LE handling on the street for my DD experience but there's way more power than I can really use or put down to think that a ZL1 would have a viable spot in my plans.

ZL1 A10 with no reservations for a DD/Street/Stop-light-to stoplight car.

1LE or ZL1 1LE if you actually care about driving.

Honestly, the SS 1LE will be more than enough. Hell, even the ltg and lgx 1LEs post incredible track numbers. The only way id consider a ZL1 is if i had regular access to a giant road course. And even then, the SS 1LE is going to tear the shit out of it. There is something exclusive about having a naturally aspirated car that can dominate like the 1LE. And the ZL1 is heavier. I dont mean to beat on the ZL1 its an incredible car. But for your intended use i dont see how you would even come close to enjoying it.
