In all but the most extreme cases, my SS 1LE rides better than Trailblazer SS. Mag ride is a game changer in these cars.

I don't need all the 2SS bells and whistles, but would enjoy a little more than the standard 1SS trim.

Drove one yesterday on the advise of members here, it felt good, but then again these were rural Maryland roads, not the war zone conditions of PA suburban roads.

What are your thoughts?

Is the 1LE too track oriented, or just a bada$$ car on the street?
As far as the ride quality goes, I would say its as good any sports car out there. I'm impressed with the ride with the level of handling it has. For example, my STI rode MUCH stiffer then this car does.

As far as the bells and whistles go, I owned a 2016 2SS that I traded for the 1LE. The only thing I missed was the stereo, and the heated and cooled seats. I have since rectified the stereo, it sounds great now, but i had to pay $. And I can live without the heated and cooled seats to get all the other performance gains.

The 1LE is a pure drivers car, it handles SO much better then the 2SS did. It out handles my STI. I test drove mustang, and realized I would have to spend a bundle to get to the level of this car. I thought about buying a used Corvette Grand Sport, I drove that and decided it rode too rough compared to this car (2010 GS 4LT Z51) and they wouldn't budge on the price. I thought about the Gen 5 Z28, but it was really a track orientated car.

For me this car is the most bang for buck of 2017. I'm not in the market now, so I can't say that for 2018, I'm assuming it still is, followed closely by, if not after, the 2018 ZL1 1LE.

I guess my only Con might be after all these Pro's, I've listed. Is that it is almost too much for the street. It has all of that handling and perfomance, but in order to even get CLOSE to using it, you gotta be on a track some place. The 2SS fits street use better than the 1SS 1LE.

All that being said, I have no regrets what so ever, trading in my 2SS with 3k miles on it, for this badass black 1SS 1LE.

The 1LE felt like a much more focused car, much more sporting character, etc. The 2SS was nice, but it's the same as the car I pick up from Enterprise ever Monday so it didn't really stand out too much.
Enterprise only rents autos. I'm assuming you compared an auto the the 1le. My 2SS 6m with mrc is a different experience than my 16 SS auto was also feels much more of a focused car.
The standard SS is PLENTY for the average enthusiast.

I think if you aren't going to take the car to the track, the 1LE stuff isn't necessary. It's serious overkill for a street car. I think the 2SS with MR is a better weekend car.

Wheels and brakes are what I'd like from the 1le. The other stuff is cool but I wouldn't need 99% of the time as my daily commuter.

Yes the auto, in fact those damned rentals are why I sold my Mustang. It’s just so much better.

Spotted a couple 1SS optioned with NPP, Recaro, and mag ride, but the prices are darn near 1LE and you don't get HUD, the brakes, or the larger wheels/tires.
2SS with mag ride is over 1LE and usually has a sun roof.

Salesman I went on the road test with mentioned prices may come down as winter begins. Their cars are fresh '18 models but he seemed to think they will drop some as they are still advertised very close to msrp.
My budget is about $40,000 otd with some funds that free up in Jan.

That would put the selling price around $37,000 ? , i doubt you will find an 18 1le at that price over the winter . Right now you can find a few 17s if color don't matter at dealers in that range but the price grows after you get there .

Black and white are the local '17 color choices.

Certainly won't / can't talk you out of 1le. Best valuegoing honestly for a performance oriented car.

I don't daily mine. Mostly weekend cruises. I have tracked a few times this year. Although it didn't have the 2SS options, I didn't need nor wish it would've come with them. I personally was looking for a performance oriented nicely equipped car and the 1le hit all my expectations and then some!

The price point by you are looking may be a little difficult, but then again who knows what incentives they'll be running at the end of the year. But of course you run the risk of not being able to find a left over '17 1le.

Good luck with your decision, but I really don't think you can wrong with a 1le purchase!!

talk you outta it? GET OUT OF THE CAR OR I'll BLOW IT UP WITH YOU IN IT

did it work?

with that said, if the C6 isn't an LS3 M6 then get the 1LE, if it is, get some coilovers from aFe Power, the old Pfadt setup and call it a day.

My 9 and 11 year old boys said, "You're the coolest dad at our school because all the other dads drive dorky cars and you have two Camaros." Get it.... and you can be the cool dad too.

Buy it... Having owned a C5 FRC I loved it and this car from a handling standpoint this 1LE is comparable if not better IMO. Buy it and enjoy
