Lowering and timing bushings

OK so I went to get my recently lowered 2010 SS (BMR 1") aligned, armed with many pages of info for bushing timing. The place I went to is a suspension and alignment shop that has been in business for a long time and has a good reputation.

I get there and show the guy my info, and he asks me how low I went. When I told him one inch, he said I needn't bother with timing. He said I could go alot lower than that before it was a issue.

By the way---it cost $117 for 4 wheels, and took about an hour.

From personal experience, get them done. I was skeptical but the difference afterwards was night and day.

Many Alignment shops have been around for years, but may not know these cars. Or they are stuck in their ways.

When they are doing Toyotas everyday, it's tough for them to swallow their pride & learn a different car.

The ride can be stiff and bouncy if they are not timed.

On the way to the alignment shop it felt very stiff. I also noted it was a bit twitchy in response to steering input. It was wierd but I assumed it was the new springs. After timing the bushings the ride is tight but not in any way abusive and the twitchiness is gone. I know that is not a technical description but what I experienced in my own words.

I did not notice a difference in ride height but have read that timing them can change the ride height of the bushings are bound up.

OK thanks. It looks like I'm stuck with what I have now as I did the alignment first.
