Wow....The generational gap is really nasty. One side is entitled and irresponsible, and the other is fat, bald and snorting Viagra.
It's a car folks. It's nobody's business, and nobody should care how you got it.
What we do have in common is that we own Camaros, and we care about them quite a bit.....It should be left at that.
P.S. I'm one of the older guys, but I have to say that in this thread the young pups seem a lot more rational.

It was a little different for my generation. Not better....not worse.....just different.
We looked at Camaros, Corvettes, Mustangs, GTOs, 442s, Super Bees and we dreamed of owning one. Some of us dreamed quite a long time.
Rather than resenting the younger folks for getting things too quickly, I feel bad that they are missing out on the dreaming about it part. You can't explain the feeling of getting something that you've wanted for 30+ years, while kids, tuitions and mortgages took precedent over your personal wants.....You have to experience it to know. I don't consider myself deprived...I consider myself lucky. And I don't give a rat's ass what anybody thinks.

I have no problem with parents buying their kids nice things, as long as they deserve it. There is this girl at my school with an Escalade and she is the worst driver I have ever seen. Every part of her car has been scraped on something. The other day she changed lanes right into me, and if it were not for my quick reaction she would have destroyed my car. Then when I approached her about it, she sped away, while flipping me off with a cigarette in her hand (she is 16). Last month, a kid that just got his license was following the same girl a little too close, she got pissed and went as fast as possible towards the car stopped in front of her at the light, and changed lanes last second and surprised the boy behind her. The boy didn't have enough room to stop and totaled his car. While it was his fault for following so close, the girl was bragging about making the kid crash. That is what I mean by someone who doesn't deserve something.

Yeah I don't blame kids for taking what ever their parents give them. Hell I have people my age now talking about what they will buy with their inheritance from a grand parent or parents passing not much difference there(though I find it more repulsive). Only time I get a bit agitated is when I hear about a college student getting one while receiving scholarship or financial aid money if they can afford a 20K+ dollar new car(not talking about ones that buy a 2010 used v6 for under 10k) they can afford a there own tuition payment.

So you were working at age 14 for two years and saved ~30,000 in cash to buy your car?

On what fairy tale planet did this happen again? If true I need that job instead of mine.

I don't know, man... that photo looks like they're smelling something bad. Might be your "maro".

Yeah... I thought that smelled a little fishy, too (no offense to the little girls in the photo). I call BS!

The good news is todays cars, including the Camaro, are a whole lot safer than the cars we rodded in the 80s. When my friends did stupid shite back then, some of them died.

I earned the money off of youtube's advertising. I am a partner under maker studios and get paid advertising dollars for the amount of views that i receive. I also have developed a few of my own apps and designed a few websites. Theres a lot of money to be made in the advertising industry and in this case your age does not matter.

I'm 17 and I paid for my first car, 2013 2ss/rs with my own cash... I have fun in it.. Yeah, but who doesn't? I enjoy having it and people staring as some little kid is driving a camaro. If people don't like me having it I really don't care, because I bought it for me not them.
