I have a 70 and a 17. I'll snap a picture later with them side by side and post it.

Huh, I never knew the 2nd gen and 6th gen were basically identical in terms of dimensions. I had to google it, but both are 188 inches long and 74 inches wide. The 6th gen is 2 inches higher at 52.

I wonder if this was intentional on GM's part when they made the 6th gen smaller?

It just so happens that the very next thread in this forum right now has pictures of a 6th gen and 1st gen side by side.

The 6th Gen has a longer Wheelbase but they are very close visually in size.

I often see 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th generation Camaros parked together at cruise nights.

Despite similar wheelbase and track dimensions, the older cars look conspicuously smaller. They're lower and the 2nd generation car is so much sleeker looking than all the others. Of course, a design like that could never happen again due to crash and pedestrian safety requirements.

But compared to Mustang and Challenger, Camaro does a much better job at representing the pony car era today.

Definitely more 2nd gen than 1st

Supports what I've said all along.

The 1st and 2nd gen Camaros have a 108" wheel base, wish the current did. The current Mustang uses the 108"WB

characteristic dimensions: outside length: 4775 mm / 188 in, width: 1890 mm / 74.4 in, wheelbase: 2743 mm / 108 in.
