Nice. In many ways it removes my remorse for not waiting to get the 1LE, because there is little likelihood I would track the car (at least not often or seriously), and the "regular" ZL1 offers a very nice ride, while still delivering anytime you want. One could always go the poser route and add aero parts if desired, if the looks are that important.

That said, it's a fantastic machine and I hope to see one sometime soon. Would be nice to have one of each! Good article.

That's pretty incredible.
This news is not official, but I got it from the "horse's mouth" at the dealer today from the dealership head of service. At his GM meeting they said that the Z/28 is coming and will have over 700hp and should be the 427 N/A like last time.

Holy crapski...!!!

700-hp out of a N/A 7.0 Liter on pump gas, should be real interesting.

So, don't kill the messenger. I have gotten in good with him so he shares a lot of info with me since buying the ZL1. We swap "war stories" so to speak.

I'll believe it when I see it. The whole reason the LT4 is powering the Z06 is because they couldn't achieve the power they wanted N/A and pass emissions. I don't see them having an even more powerful engine now N/A

The dealer today just verified it to me, that's all. The size of motor is not sure, but the horsepower is correct.

"Car and Driver has reported major changes are inbound for the sixth-generation Camaro Z/28 as the ZL1 1LE keeps the Camaro in a track prowess holding pattern. According to intel, General Motors is working on a naturally aspirated, 5.5-liter small block V8 that will push 700 hp. And that engine is supposedly being readied for the next Z/28 with an LT6 designation."

here is the link that is public.

I can't stand it when these magazines criticize the ride quality of a car that handles like this. For one, I drive my 17 ZL1 in Track mode exclusively and that is on some horrible NJ roads and I don't find it one bit uncomfortable. Is it a Town Car? Of course not. Have I made one complaint? Never. But if it was more comfortable and sacrificed handling then they'd be like "oh this car is far too comfy and as such sacrifices too much on the suspension". It's like they purposely try to be douchebags some times. Why not criticize the MPGs or how low to the ground it is while they're at it? Sheesh they're a car mag testing an ultra performance car of this magnitude and they're acting like sissies talking about the ride quality. I've had chicks in my ZL1 that thought it was comfortable in Track mode...grow a pair MT.

Sorry for the rant, just steams me up when I read something like that. Anyway, GM is really killing it out there and I don't think they're gonna let up. I think GM in performance right now is like a rabid dog that is attacking everything in sight, lol!! I can't wait to see what they do with the Z28. I'm not sure how they'll get 700 hp NA but I'm sure they have some tricks up their sleeve. I would prefer it to be forced induction tho.

I always keep it in Sport mode, and tried the Track mode on the street recently and it is really not much stiffer. It is in no way too harsh.

If one would have ridden in my 2014 Mustang GT TP, with the fully adjustable suspension from Ford Racing set at performance. THAT was rough and that is all I drove it in. It was rougher than anything I have owned. But it stayed flat in corners, I just hated the Lincoln Log that's why I sold it.

Nope, the Z/28 is all about N/A. So if GM really gets 700hp out of the 5.5L with a flat plane crank like it says in the article I posted, DAMN!!!

I enjoyed the article. I can't wait to hear real owners feed back on street driving of this car especially how it compares to a 5th gen Z/28.
