Anyone notice how the article says "Fastest Camaro" and not "Fastest Chevrolet"?

They don't want to piss off the Vette guys. I'm sure the ZR1 will be faster, but it's going to be twice the money.

I'm not sure the current Z06 isn't faster.

In theory, it should be, but we've never seen official lap times because they never got a lap on video (due to rainouts, according to Tadge).

That makes sense...
My 1st thought was fastest Chevy when I read that article too, but the Z06 time isn't there.

That's BS. I have had 3 Vettes including my current 2010 ZR1 and love Vettes, but the C7 Z06 hasn't been able to generate a good lap time because of the parachute Z07 rear spoiler that does not efficiently create downforce, it creates drag mostly, and the LT4 hasn't been able to stay cool for a whole lap so it would heat soak and derate. I'm hoping the upcoming ZR1 fixes the drag and cooling issues. I bet it will and I hope it runs a sub 7 min laptime and I also hope I get one.

In the meantime, the ZL1 1LE has the fastest reported CHEVROLET ringtime. Congrats to Bill Wise for incredible driving and congrats to the entire Camaro team for building a world class car!!

GM not even has posted the GS or Z51 C7 Corvettes lap times at Nurburgring, only posted there are C6. Is GM hiding something?

There is a zo6 with zo7 package on the list (22), but it is not a gm time.

Only hiding the fact that the ZL1 1LE basically owns both of them. ZR1 will take the light however in the end thus putting Corvette back up top. I think the real deciders will be what it runs at MTBDC and then C&D Lighting Lap to see really where this car stacks against GS and Z06/07.

Yep chart is missing the model year. That was the C6 Z06 with the Z07 package. They introduced that for the 2012 model year if I recall. Had Pilot Sport Cup Zero Pressure tires in the package. They re-ran the ZR1 at the same time with the 2012 upgrade for available Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Zero Pressure and did a 7:19.63.
