I’ve heard the Pro XS mufflers are very good with little to no drone. I’ll be trying them this year since my mangaflows are starting to drone

Im going back to a non resonated Hpipe to the NPP mufflers. The x is nice but i dont get high speeds often so ill take the lower gain and deeper tone instead

i got the magnaflow and to be honest i don't think it's much louder than stock i don't notice any drone. i am running factory cats and exhaust manifolds. i like it but i would not pay full MSRP for it i only got it because it cost me 500 bucks almost new off a guy that wrecked his car.i am not a cat or "muffler delete" kind of guy.if i had headers and not cats it would sound totally different.

I think if you have a really good exhaust guy you might be able to angle it upwards a bit for more clearance without getting too close to the driveshaft.

It does cut down the volume/drone by a good amount though. No regrets.

Thank you sir. Ill see if my guy can squeeze the shorter one in.

For everyone else, it makes a world of difference having big long tubes, no cats and needing 3 inch diameter piping. Not easy to get that system quiet.

I’ll politely say no thanks to the 2.5 inch cat backs, or comparing npp with stock manifolds.

Definitely right on it being difficult to keep a 3" catless system quiet. Resonators don't really do enough, I think this is the best option.

I didn't have rasp with my flowmaster mufflers, setup was just really loud. But if you do, I think the magnaflow will take care of it nicely.

Update

Took me long enough but I finally got the magnaflow resonated x pipe in. We managed to squeeze the large one in there, I forgot what it measured, but it is the lowest point now, and sometimes scrapes over speed bumps.

It lost a little bit of rasp and toned it down a good bit. I'd still prefer it more quiet.

I do, company car. Plus the wife’s Grand Cherokee. It still has a little bit of raspy farty sound, but much better. Nothing like a chambered muffler tho. U cant have it all.

SLP Powerflo if you can find them. Super deep and tame-ish with headers and no cats

True that. I've accepted the fact that ill never find the perfect exhaust sound.

I realized the same when i put on a neighbor friendly catback before i moved. Its not what i want but it keeps people from complaining about my car at 7am.

trying to kill drone on a 3” system is tough and it seems to be even more difficult to sell the 3” catback lol

I know that feeling, unfortunately. One of my neighbors has pretty much stopped interacting with me since I cammed my car. It may all just be in my head, but that's what it seems like. It was tolerable when it wasn't cammed but now the cold brap loping rattles the windows in my house, and I am sure all my neighbors windows too.

I go back to work in person tomorrow morning. Which means I have to cold start my cammed, long tubed, x-pipe/catless, Flowmaster Outlawed monster at 5:45 am. The Outlaw mufflers are almost as loud as straight pipes. I am already cringing thinking about having to do this and wake the entire neighborhood up. I hate just jumping in the car and taking off, but I may find a side road a little away from the house to let it warm up.

Since cam install/Covid started I have made a habit of not starting the car before 9am or after 10pm. That's out the window now.

I replaced everything except the NPP mufflers and put them on a switch so I can run them full closed in the morning.
