With any luck, it's probably just a busted battery. Low voltage does all sorts of weird stuff in these new cars.

When I bought my C7 Corvette, it was also throwing random service notifications in the instrument cluster. The car barely started when I showed up, and someone accidentally shut the car off before we could get out for a test spin. Never got it started again, LOL. I actually went to see the Camaro(which is now mine) and ate lunch while they replaced the battery in that. It was smooth sailing after that.

If I were you, I would probably tell them to throw in a new battery and go for a test drive.

The price is too high in my opinion and it might be something not major wrong with it. Did you check under the hood to see if everything was original or if it had an aftermarket CAI etc? You stated you were looking for a Crush ZL1 but I think you are doing right by passing on this one and waiting for that new 2021 or 2022.

As mentioned prior It's likely something as simple as a battery that went bad from the car sitting for long periods of time from not being on a float charger when the car sits.

If you are buying an used, i will get GAP insurance for sure. You never know when this used market will crash.

Last month sold my 2019 Ford Superduty for $56k. I bought it new 2.5 years ago and paid $54,000 for it.

I'd be willing to bet there's nothing wrong with that car anymore serious than a weak battery. Be that as it may, it's still too expensive. Hold out for the '22

Here's my thoughts, if it has the original tires with plenty of tread , and the oil looks good, not dirty, etc, my bet would be someone that's not experienced with a car like this took it down to the gas station and put cheap regular gas in it, and its pulling timing way down. Most cars that are treated bad dont stay clean inside and out ! If the dealership would drain the tank and refill I bet they would have a perfectly running car.
The battery statement is correct also, 2 months ago my son's 2016 silverado check engine light came on while driving, (truck sat up for 3 months, started once or every 2 weeks) anyway he went outside to start it, all kind of codes, I got my hp tuners out and plugged it in. The program said bad fuel pump or direct injectors, battery showed full charge, CPO warranty, and towed in, the battery was a year old and defective, new battery put on, and back on the road !
