I see what you're saying, but theoretical. And as is the case with oil, regulations will impact what we're able to obtain and by what method. Human rights implications as Telsa has found (Cobalt). Mining isn't necessarily "clean" either as a general matter. It's just not black and white. It may be a base hit and not a home run depending on your motives to produce EVs.

So I’m minding my own business, cruising Woodward and this guy pulls up in front of me. He had 3 of the four roof panels off. Thing is HUUUGE!

GM promised 30 new EVs for sale worldwide by 2025...with 2/3s, around 20 models for sale in the US by 2025. That's three and a half years from now......So far there is a Bolt, and a soon to be Hummer, and Lyriq....That's at least three down, 17 more to go for the U.S. The Hummer and Lyriq were made known at least a year or so before being sold, so time is running short for the balance of the US model EVs from GM.

The floodgates should be opening soon, perhaps one of those will be a Camaro. The Ultium Mother of all platforms should become very prolific soon....

It looks like it'll be a more conservative take on the Raptor/TRX. We can only hope it undercuts pricing somehow. The Trail Boss LT is around 50K base so they'd have what about 15K to play with or so before it's a bad deal?
