OEM / Aftermarket Traction Control

Hi Guy's

Quick question, I have a lt4/10l90 dropout from a ZL1 going in my Rx7, im wondering if anyone knows how if the GM ECU cuts fuel injection or spark when traction control kicks in. Basically I have lifted a racelogic traction control unit from my old swap and wanted to use it here on this project, however due to the lt4 being direct injection versus the ls3 it was previously controlling I have some doubts about it actually working. The unit cuts injection which I think will present me with some issues.

Unfortunately racelogic has stopped making the unit and has gone into data acquisition so it has never been tested with DI.

Cheers Neil

I don't have an answer to your question but I just want to say an LT4 powered Rx7 should be a bit of fun when it's complete. Good luck with your build.

I have nothing to support this other than my intuition, but it seems like the OE traction control has a few methods to support traction control - at its least intrusive, it seems as though it retards timing. When it needs a bigger correction, it seems as though it goes back to traditional methods of cutting fuel/spark.

I agree this is gonna be one fun car!

Just remember that the original Shelby A/C Cobra's only traction control came from the pucker factor on the driver!

As a side note I washed my car last week and pulled out with the tires still wet. I went sideways right out my driveway. My default is track mode for all dynamic settings. I switched drive mode to snow/ice just to see the difference. I couldn’t break the rear loose at all.

The traction/stability control on this car is phenomenal in snow/ice. Really love how the different levels and settings give different thresholds of traction.

Yep my race logic was pretty much the same, with the option to increase slip by 1% increments to 25% slip.

Saved my arse on multiple occasions,

Cheers Neil
