Hand wash or automatic car wash??

When I first got my 2011 I always hand washed. Two years into having the car.
I gave in and took it to a automatic car wash. Asked one of the guys working there about the brushes. He told me not to worry they have people bringing their $100,000 cars here all the time. It'll be fine. Just wanted to get you guys thoughts if you will only hand wash or the auto cars wash is just fine.

No.....because the brushes may be soft but you don't know if they're dirty. Try look for a touchless carwash in a pinch.

I have a membership for unlimited car washes at Delta Sonic (a local car wash company) that uses a touch less wash. It's 22° in Buffalo right now & I like to keep my Camaro clean

Yeah definitely nothing that touches the car if you need to have it washed, touchless only!

100% touchless for auto wash IF you are going to do to Automatic wash. It is a good thing to do when the weather is in the teens or 20s... But once it hits 40s, handwash only

This was in a new Stingray. I also noticed the same tag in a Z/28:

If it touches your car it will scratch your paint. Get your wash mitt nice and soapy, go throw it in the dirt, then slap it against your car. You should obtain the same results as going through a non touchless car wash.

Man and that whole $100000 car nonsense is just that. Until I witness it I'd say the guy was lying just to get you to pay and use it.

But the funny thing is that I am sure he is right, $100k cars probably do go through them, a lot of those people couldn't care less about the appearance of their cars like we do here!

I believe that there is issues with the width and profile of the wheels/tires as well.

A lot of us would love to be in your position. Unfortunately, my car is sitting outside in the blizzard that is her on the east coast. And when it's done, and I can drive it without crashing, it will go to the car wash.

Hands free that is.
