So even though I'm not allowed to talk about it, I heard a very interesting thing from A. J. Allmendinger while watching the Rolex 24. He stated that just by messing up his braking point and not late braking as hard as possible into turn 1 he would lose 0.3 seconds. That's 1 turn...he's a pro...

HAHAHAHA, yup....you could possibly see one soon if the weather up by you permits.

Time to get ready

I would LOVE a ZL1 with LT's. I have been undecided so long, I just dont think there is better for the money.

Also why it is important that these cars run consistently and don't overheat. You might lose time on one turn or one lap but you could run a better time the next lap. If the car overheats and fades off or can't maintain posture then that one lap will be it.

You're right! Some amazing deals too. I am going to wait another year or so to see if GM shocks us and offers a manual in the C8 grandsport, unlikely but I am in no rush anyway. If there really never will be a manual C8, then I will adopt a '20 or '21 ZL1 manual. Heck, even a manual GT500 would be on the table so i am just going to wait a little while and see what shakes out.

Pretty badass to see it right up there close with the base's 10.6s. It was the quicker car on street surfaces.

So out of 6 runs, only one run was 10.73?

What were the other runs? And which attempt did they get the 10.7? LOL!! I mean, were 5 of the runs all in the mid 11s? Did it run 10.7 on the first run and then couldn't duplicate another 10 sec run for the entire day?

I'll quote myself from November 26th.

ZL1 A10's hero at 10.9.
REVan Evan GT500 had a 10.6 hero

Motorweek
ZL1 A10 at 11.5
GT500 at 11.2
So expect the GT500 to best the ZL1 A10 by 0.3 seconds. Bravo. Fine job!

Bro you don't know what you're talking about they run 10.5 all day every day at a drag strip..

The car is obviously a 10 second capable car proven multiple times already and I don't think anyone claims otherwise.... but these guys like to ignore the tons of 11s they run as well... look at palm beach dyno's lightly modded car, ran 10.5 once then a few 11.1s... and I guess the magazines were sand bagging lol

I just read that article. A 64k Subaru is ridiculous. I thought it was a typo at first.

I love when the Ford fanbois bring up the GT should be compared to the vette whenever someone compares a vette to a GT500. When you can buy 3 C7ZR1s and a C8 for the price of one GT you can't compare those cars, except the fact that the ZR1 still beats the GT.
GT is overpriced and according to C&D LL ~4 seconds per lap slower than ZR1.

https://www.caranddriver.com/feature...storical-data/

Why would anyone compare GT500 against an AWD sub 400HP car? I'd really like to see GT350/R vs Focus RS... they could do a reliability comparison. Who's going to blow up first? GT350/R Vooblew or Focus RS... place your bets here!
