Removing The Airbag Warning Stickers

WARNING: Do not perform this modification if you are worried about the following...
  1. You are afraid of going to federal prison for removing these airbag warning stickers and/or mattress tags.
  2. Being killed by your airbags, because you won't be able to read the warnings before starting your Camaro.
  3. In 50 years you will need to find reproduction stickers to return your Camaro back to concourse condition.
  4. You think it a lot of work for something that you never even notice.
Step 1: Using a hair dryer on high heat, carefully warm the warning sticker to loosen the adhesive. After a couple of seconds, begin to pull a corner of the sticker from the visor. Continue blowing hot air on the sticker as you slowly pull it from the visor.

I tried pulling on the warning sticker without heating it up first, but it was stuck on pretty tight and I was afraid I would stretch out the fabric on the visor.

Step 2: To remove the adhesive that has remained behind on the visor fabric, spray adhesive remover (Goo Gone) onto a microfiber towel and scrub the visor. Heating the area as you scrub seems to help.

Step 3: Once the adhesive has been scrubbed off, clean the area with a mild soap and water solution to clean the adhesive remover from the fabric.

Step 4: Dry the area using a clean towel and/or the hair dryer.

Step 5: Add the airbag warning stickers to your mattress tag collection.

An alternative if you trade your car often; cut two pieces of 3M Dinoc carbon fiber vinyl from Amazon and stick it on over the labels. It peels off easily and the car looks 100% stock when you trade it. It also takes 10 seconds .

To resolve not only the ugly sticker issue, but the uncovered mirror issue, I'm pulling mine and fabricating leather covers. I'll post pics when done!

I peeled one of mine off without first researching .

Any suggestions on how to stick it back? (I'd rather put black sticker on top). I'm thinking double sided tape but now sure how it will work

Update on my woes with this. Double sided tape doesn't hold, peeled off after a while. I tried sticking the vinyl cover from RPI designs in the spot where the original sticker was and the vinyl doesn't hold more than a couple hours in warm weather.

I'll try removing the glue that was left with goo gone now... and keep the original sticker to stick it back in the future if I wanna restore it to stock

I ripped mine off because I couldn’t stand them. the only thing I can think is trying to iron it back on with a low heat setting to reactivate the glue. Try with a thin damp cloth between the iron and decal

I went this route. Matches perfectly and very simple to put on.

I did this. It takes time and patience. Do it over several days so you don’t get frustrated. Don’t overheat and don’t scrub at glue too hard. I removed each visor and took my time on my workbench. It’s so worth it. Makes the cab much darker without that highlighter in your face. I tried the black tape too, but didn’t like the censored look.
