Speed Engineering Valve Covers 2650

So do these suck? I don’t see many people at all useing them.
On their Mag2650. I’m guessing people are just keeping there stock covers?

Any issues, or people just don’t want to spend the extra money when not needed?

I had looked into getting a set, but people on the forum said the baffling is poor. Actually they said worst than stock.

I have them they dont suck and if you keep your stock ones you need to modified them to fit the 2650

True and that is why I asked same question 2 months ago, but all the feedback was to stay away from them.

I'm not sure how much I'm that concerned, but there is NO baffling, really, from what I could see (based purely off videos). If you could call a single deflector that covers the PCV outlet from the valve cover a baffle, then I guess it is baffled, but that's not what I would say is a baffle. Maybe it's not a big deal if you are using a catch can, but if you can't/don't, then I think it's not going to trap as much oil/vapor as OEM covers.

FWIW - if you choose to mod' your OEM covers, it's pretty easy, honestly. A big selling point for me was that's a lot of $$$ to put toward HPTuners or a CAI, if you don't have either... I think SE's valve covers look great! They're just worth it for me.

May I ask a naive question? What kind of modification is needed on the stock valve covers to fit the Magnuson 2650 on the ZL1?

You only have to cut off the upper coil pack mounts.
I also wanted to get the Speed Engineering covers at first, but then I read about all the problems with oil beeing sucked out. Even with catch cans!

Thanks man. It seems really straight forward. Btw, do you have the 2650 on your car and did you do the install yourself?

Might hit you up in the future. I am waiting for the car to arrive to the UK and I am planning to do the same.

The mods' to the valve covers are easy. It took me just as long to remove and reinstall as the cutting. It would go faster if you have a band saw probably, but I used a sawzall, and cleaned the cuts up with a Dremel, and it was totally fine. I'd just make sure to tape-off all the openings and keep everything clean so you don't drop crap into the top of the engine. It was a little scary, but it was fine after the first cut was done, HAHAHA. If you can change your oil, you can probably do this.

Cool no problem.
I belief there is only a few ZL1 in the UK, just like here in Switzerland.
