Slotted Rotors & Ceramic Pads - Detroit Axle

I'm a research kind of guy and recently, I researched brake parts. I try to take into account the combination of how much I can afford for the best quality I can get.

After doing said research I zeroed in on a set of Detroit Axle brake parts. Ratings and reviews seemed to be consistently in the 4 of 5 stars and the pricing seemed reasonable.

I ended up buying them and having them installed. Fit perfect on the Brembos. It's only been a week which is hardly a review-worthy time but so far have been quite pleased with the braking power that came with these 14" rotors and ceramic pads.

When I posted this at another site, a couple guys came at me in true flame-on fashion that seems to dominate a lot of forums and vilified me for using these brakes on an SS. One even said something about my mother - no joke.

Has anyone else used this brand? If so, what is your experience with them? So far, I have found them to be a very functional set of brakes for a very reasonable price. They look all right too.

I continue to be a Powerstop fan... good price, great rotors by trial.

Glad you found yourself a good set too.

Yeah, Powerstop seems to be consistently at or near the top of the list of "BEST". Right on.

I have the Stop Tech set. Not impressed. All my rotors have some sort of gouging in them. I wound up switching out their crappy, dust bowl creating pads for Hawk Yellow Ceramics. Now it is nearly dust free.

well if it fits your budget and you like the performance, thats all that matters. I have debated going to slotted/drilled rotors, but there is alot of information on those and huge debates about even switching and any benefit to it. keep us updated with these.

I’m at 61,000 on what I assume is original rotors and maybe even pads too. Mine stock stuff shakes from time to time when they don’t have much heat in them. My rear rotors are starting to show some wear so I’m sure at some point in the not too distant future I’ll be looking into some better equipment. Keep Updating this thread if possible. I’d love to see how this works out for all of you. Rear tires are next on my list. Can’t keep a set on it for long. Must be a rear alignment problem or something

Calm down ma'am.
If you google "top list of brake brands" they come in consistently at or near the top on just about every list. I'd say that's a pretty good indicator that a lot of people think they do a good job. Just because you may not happen to think so, well... (shrug).
