Tire size for wider wheels

I have purchased new wheels for my '16 2SS and am in the process of getting tires and looking for size recommendations.

The wheels are:
20x9 (+.5") front
20x10.5 (+1") rear.

So far I'm thinking I will go with:

255/35 front
285/35 rear

I am looking at Nitto 555 G2's

My car is a DD, not tracked and I hate run-flats. I know the Continental's and Michelin's are BEST but are also double the price. I had Michelin PSS's on my C5 Corvette and they were great. Expensive however and did not last. Any suggestions for better at $200 each or less?

Thx and Drive On!!

I actually have these same size wheels coming in as well. I decided I am going to go 265/35 and 295/35 though, Continental doesn’t make any 295/35 tired so those are out so it’s either the Nittos or pony up for the Michelin ps4s, leaning towards the nittos!

I would go with 255/40 up front and 295/35 in the back. This way you keep the tires the same height which is important I think. I am thinking of the same set up.

Agreed, but the Nitto does not come in a 255/40. Not much does except the $300+ crowd

OP, if you have any pics of your setup I’d love to see pics, please. I’m thinking of going with the same setup with same sized wheels.

My tire size research is telling me that:

245/40 front(stock size)
295/35 rear

is closer to original overall tire height and allowing the correct width for the wider rear wheel. The +.5" front wheel should be fine with a stock size tire.

Currently just stock, arctic white with red fender hash. New wheels are not on.

Here is (poor man's) photoshop of where I am going soon. Wheels and tires this week and stripes later this month.

So I actually went with:

245/40 front (stock)
285/35 rear

Nice fit, no evidence of stretch (I hate that) and the 295/35's were ~ $100 more. The overall tire height is slightly higher on the rear as opposed to stock which is slightly higher in the front. New stripes in 2 weeks.
