It's just another class of car, I would take one over the 16 Camaro 2SS I just bought for sure... It's slightly faster and an amazing track car, but the cars don't price compare at all, 60K with no discounts or even dealer markup still versus 34.5K for the brand new Camaro 2SS.
At 60K would have just went with well optioned C7. |

I was days away from ordering a Mustang GT with the PP. To put my mind at ease, I asked the same thing about the Camaro SS in the Mustang forum. I was encouraged to go test drive one. I should be taking delivery of my SS in a couple of weeks....

If I had Corvette money I wouldn't look at any kind of Mustang. That's like renting a condo when you could own a mansion. If Ford wants to go up against the Corvette they need to start a different brand.

I prefer the Camaro for my needs. But no doubt about it Camaro and stang are both sedan based coupes not real sports cars. Different beast. I also owned a 911 and liked that too but still too sports car ish for me and my use these days. |

It's not that impressive compared to the Camaro SS. The Camaro SS is faster 0 to 60 and the GT-350R is only .1 second 0 to 60. Don't get me wrong the GT350 is a nice car but up here in Canada the R is almost $100 grand.

I drove my co-workers about a month before I bought my 2SS, it felt good. It sounds awesome.
He paid close to 2x what I paid for my 2SS. I would rather have my car for the money any day. I like the looks of my car much better....but I am biased.

I tracked a GT350TP earlier this year at Laguna (I have a great dealer group that lets me "use" cars for 25-30 miles on a BCA), so i got some great laps in. I loved the car minus the shifter (just didn't like it) and it was as fast as my Z28 times with not much effort. The only other thing (thinking back) was the fit/finish was not what I expect from a $60k+ (adm) car, but my 1LE had a terrible paint job too...The GT350 was on my short list, but I couldn't find one for what I was willing to pay ($54k w/tp) and along came a Spyder, which I bought site unseen

very interesting experiences and views thanks guys for this off topic ramble. I just bought the z51 c7 1lt loved it I got it for 56k, It was mind-blowing but I sold it for 55k, and needed more of a 4 seater and a bit more under the radar the c7 screams ferrari. I am waiting on the 1le but have always been drawn to the shelby , what I learned about cars is that the zero to sixty and lap times don't always describe the driving experience. Exhaust , and it having a different torque curve makes in interesting. Plus I think it would like never lose value for the next 5 years well small amounts. For me that exhaust and torque and personal experience sometimes beats the better faster car. For example I smoked the guy in the z06 with my z51 at thunder hill cause I could push it farther. I do miss my corvette though! I think about her often! If I could find a gt350 for 54k I would do it they are out there but its TOUGH esp in CALI.
above poster have to say that gt350 looks beyond the 2ss... in that pic |

Beyond as in a different leauge, class. The 350 looks way better then a 2ss. I've never liked the six gen SS hoods, cheap and out of place.

It is interesting that a Cobalt driver is knocking my new Camaro. To each his own.
