I wonder how the 3 and 4 gens did in the war? I can visualize the stangs of that era but not sure what gen they were. The weight less weight had to be on the stang side when I think about how the models looked. You Chevy folk know the answers?

Surprisingly the Challenger sales have tanked again. Everyone is riding the hype train on the new Mustangs give it another year when the newness of the design fades.

I do not think Chevy understands Eye-Candy, especially with the 19-25 crew who are lining up at ford dealers and ordering like crazy..
The orange fits right in with Oklahoma State colors and I did price one with the amenities I would like but I just can't convince myself to buy a Ford. I can't do it.

My 2 cents: The Camaro will lead again soon.

I like the Stang to a point. Better outward visibility. Have not driven one to date. just sat in one. On colors, I think the Ford's silver and candy apple tint is better than Camaros versions. Maybe their gray too. Do not care for the Stang's OHC engine but it does not have AFM which I consider a plus.

Surprised the Challenger STILL trails the Camaro. Not looking good for them knowing the all new Camaro is few months away.

Yeah I don't think the chally will get past the camaro or mustang. I too believe the camaro will take the top spot again once the cars start rolling in.

With the Dodge Charger having as much horsepower as the Challenger the Challenger will never have sales like the Camaro or the Mustang its a different kind of pony car it has competition within its own world from the charger.

The company is not trying to outsell the Camaro or the Mustang with the Challenger they are just doing their own thing

Honestly I am shocked the Challenger sells as well it does, especially without offering a drop top version

They're not interested in doing a drop top if anything from Chrysler gotta drop top it would be the Chrysler 200 not the Challenger. That came from an engineer at one of the Mopar car shows a few years ago when we ask about the charger having a drop top

I disagree. They would have gotten eaten alive if they tried to offer the same product as Ford and Chevy, so they decided to offer a slightly different product. Look at Apple, they tried to compete with Microsoft and never could. They changed their game and took off.

You bet your ass they want to outsell Camaro and Mustang. They're in the business of selling cars and currently have one of the smallest profit margins in the biz. The big picture for FCA is not very rosey right now and they need as many sales as possible.

I gotta cut Dodge a little slack....If there were no 4 door Hemi-Chargers (which pretty much started this whole thing) Challenger sales would be substantially higher....

Dodge pulled off quite a trick by selling a four door Charger as a muscle car early on...

I've never seen any stats but I bet the vast majority of Charger sales are the V6. Probably more RT challengers sold that RT Chargers.
