Dealership is taking motor back apart after replacing pump and still not getting pressure. They couldn't get pressure manually either. Going to look at seals for pickup tube and oil pump itself.

They said the replacement pump was faulty, waiting on parts again, should all be in by tomorrow.

Replacing oil pump, oil cooler, and tensioner for timing chain this time around too.

Hoping for an answer Friday.

Very easy transaction yesterday! Got the exhaust cleaned up a bit last night as well, just need to do some fine polishing on the tips and it will be perfect!

Always down for a drive, so looking forward to it!

Did you ask the cam upgrade while they are at it?

I certainly would love to, unfortunately it is warranty work though :(

offer to pay the labor difference...wouldn't be too much, but you would have to tow it to a tuner or get a mail order tune for it. When i did the cam on on 2017 last year i had them replace the pump while in there.

If I trusted the dealership more, I would be all for this, but my confidence level is extremely low.

Understood...got to have the right service writer and staff and they are harder to find these days.

This statement here above is very disheartening , when there is a part failure on the engine, and the replacement part is bad also, it makes you wonder what GM is thinking by bidding on a part from a supplier that has low quality in workmanship.

A 30k-70k car should have a parts good enough for the automobile to be paid for before needing repairs.

I retired from the state of Texas, most states like automotive companies bid on parts/contracts, needless to say the lower price bidders get the job !

Me and my family drive mostly toyota's for every day routines, they cost more, but you can get 3 times the life out of one.

Dealer used the prime tool gm recommend, pressure went up only slightly, still waiting on answer from GM about next step.

They got all the parts in yesterday for 2nd attempt, starting reassembly today, I would say tomorrow at best. Just hoping it gets oil pressure this time around..

Two of my ZL1 buddies contacted me today, both their pumps failed!
Both build date 2017.

Does anyone know how soon the Katech pumps are available again?

So far so good on the replacement. It's getting a good workout now that winter thaw is over - not just letting it sit, well it does do that a lot with WFH.
