The parts guy is right - there isn't necessarily anything special about bolts sourced from the dealer parts department, versus the ones you can get from a hardware store.

There are two catches, though:
1. Obviously, if you go buying different bolts, they won't look the same, so if this is going to bother you, consider replacing all of them. Lowes usually has really nice looking stainless socket head screws. This is probably what I'd use.

2. More generally, you do need to be sure that the bolts you're using are the same or higher grade as the ones you're replacing, particularly for anything structural or safety related.

For the purpose of holding a throttle body on a plastic intake manifold, you should be able to use any bolt that fits in the hole, though, and it will work fine.

I like the looks of your mirrors. Did you have them wrapped or painted and what color?

Thanks..
Thanks! I just got them painted gloss black and then wrapped in STEK PPF film - same as the rear spoiler.

Since I replaced the runflats, I'm outfitting the trunk with some things to help me change a tire. I convinced the wife that this Milwaukee Impact was the only way to go. She didn't bat an eye. God bless her.

Tomorrow, I'm going around to payback some nuts that didn't want to come loose last time.

Installed my GM CAI today, after some slight mishaps it would be much easier next time.

As in your keeping it in the trunk? I’m not sure I follow the logic of keeping a rechargeable tool for “emergencies”.. though I’m a big fan of Milwaukee

Do you have the npp exhaust? Does the CAI change the tone or make it any louder? I’ve been contemplating getting one myself.

I'm running out of mods to do to the engine. Installed the ATI pulley on Thursday. Nick Williams 103 MM throttle body last week. The RotoFab and the MSD have been on the car for a while now. Heads and cam probably next...

I’ve only had it on for a little bit and driven around a short bit, I can let you know later on. Initially though, the intake is louder for sure, didn’t seem to change the burbling exhaust.

Picked up a new 2016-2018 RS lower grille assembly from my local dealer today. Now I am just waiting on an upper grille assembly and back bumper cover so I can make my 2021 to 2016 facelift happen...

Cruised over a few towns to get my 2nd Pfizer Vaccine.

Feel a bit tired right now. But other than that ok.
