LT4 SC on LT1 help
Guys,
I've looked at LT4 on LT1 SC blower install and parts needed threads before, thought I had sub'd them but no. Searching all morning and can't seem to find the info I want. Can anyone help me? I am getting an LT4 SC with a few parts; HE, Pump, 2 hoses, belt and crank pulley. Not looking for crazy gains and don't track, just my next upgrade and would like to keep my stock fuel system. I do have E85 and tune but hear I may have to forgo that. Not a big deal, in the 2 years I've had it I have filled up maybe 7-8 times as the station is out of my way. Thx, Russ (also on FI discussions)

Russ, contact Andy of ADM Performance and he can help you with advice, questions you may have and other parts you might need to do the install. He even sells complete kits to put a LT4 supercharger on a LT1 engine. Good luck!

I’d imagine an LT4 fuel system would be a wise move. Probably find some used stuff out there with low miles for cheap. That should allow you to run some E content.

I would put the LT4 fuel system in it then you can run full E on 6psi and make around 600whp. It will be a fun reliable setup at that power and boost level.

I would like to do that but my budget is stretched as it is. Still need a few parts for the complete kit plus the $550 for 91 tune.
To get the fueling upgrade I'd need high and low side FP, injectors and a ZL1 E85 kit. The E85 kit I have will not fit with the LT4 on. In the 2 years I've had the mods on I think I've filled up with E 7-8 times, the gas station is out of the way. Might be something I go for in the future.

The issue is the high compression LT1 loves and really needs more Octane. Aside from octane Ethanol aids in cooling the piston and keeping the rings from butting. 99% of LT1 failures are on pump gas and even meth. Meth works if done correctly but it needs to have at least 50% water mixed in to aid in removing heat from the cylinder.
I wouldn't even boost a stock bottom end LT1 if I was admin on running 91 octane. Can it be done sure...stock fuel system 91 octane and 7psi with 12 degrees of timing is about max. The car might run a touch better then a header, lt2 intake, cai car with E85 and 28 degrees of timing. The reason is the difference in timing. Feed the FI setup the octane it needs to get timing back up near MBT(20-21degrees) then it will be a entirely different animal.

Mr Russ: I did the conversion and included a few posts on the topic in my thread...
https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=546097 I highly recommend it...200 HP gain on 93 octane...turns ho-hum power into a thrilling ride! Good luck!
