3M Vinyl Wrap 1LE Front Spliiter

I ordered a few samples of different 3M Matte Black 1080 Vinyl Wrap. I'll upload some picture of the samples next to the stock splitter in a week or two for anyone interested in wrapping it. Once I pick my preferred wrap, I'll be wrapping mine and will post pics of how it turned out.

I got some pictures for those interested in either painting or 3M vinyl wrapping your 1LE splitter. 3M M12 Matte Black, 3M M22 Deep Matte Black, 3M S12 Satin Black, GM color recommendation painted splitter being compared.

I had my splitter 2 stage painted with WA8555 GM Gloss Black and clear coated with full gloss clear with the transparency reduced to 40% as GM recommends. That's what pictures below. Its paint on the splitter, not vinyl wrap.

The nice amount over overspray make it's easy to see the difference between the unpainted plastic (how this car comes from the factory) and GM's recommendation for re-painting your splitter or painting a new primered 1LE splitter like the dealership sells.


My conclusions:

3M M12 Matte Black looks more like the OEM unpainted finish. This is what's on the 1LE hood from the factory.

3M M22 Deep Matte Black looks more like GM's recommendation for painting the splitter.

GM's paint recommendation looks like a semi-gloss versus the unpainted plastic which is a true matte finish.
