Was your oil pump replaced? I purchased the KATECH, but I'll wait for the warranty to expire before install. Still only have 1500 miles on it.

If I had your car, I would also wait a bit before surrendering my powertrain warranty, you've only just passed the official break-in threshold, and from what I've seen here, most LT4 oil pump failures occurred past break-in but still at low mileage. It's very unfortunate that the car is going away, I'm not sure how much GM can be trusted with spare parts and engine supply in the coming years, but hey, you have a warranty for a reason, make it their problem if the pump fails. You may need to wait fairly long for a new engine if that happens---but it hopefully won't, failure percentage is still low and you may easily have hit a winning number in the stacking tolerance lottery.

@arpad_m, thank you for your input. I’ve been sending off engine oil analysis samples and hope that I’ll notice any drop in oil pressure should a failure occur.
