Just took a pic of my "etched" pan ....I think. My current ramps are too steep for the camaro. So I inprovised with my Milwaukee inspection camera from work.
This is what I saw. So I think it's etched ....can anyone confirm? Pic is little crappy trying hold the tool and phone at the same time. Lol Btw my build date is 11/15. Tires were made in the 2nd week of November. So if I had to guess my car was made towards the very end of November. Last edited by JonGSA; 04-11-2016 at 04:27 PM. |

Dropped my car at the dealer this morning. My Service Advisor (the same guy I always took the 2012 2SS so I know him and trust him) provide me with a loaner (a Silverado truck). He called me about 2hrs later letting me know that there was no need to replaced the parts that were listed on the recall. Basically, my car is not affected by the recall.
Already got my baby back and I am a happy camper!!! Anyway, thank you to everyone that brought this to the board. Greatly appreciated!!!

Vin 136962, shows up on the list for the recall. Build date 01/16. Took a look and don't have raised numbers. Have to take it to the dealer anyways to clear it in the system.

Awesome, great to hear. At the time I read the thread, I missed that pic a few pages back. When I bring it in for an oil change (it's free) I'll have them check it off the system too.
Good to know too for everyone else that SS's early as mine are good to go. |

I dropped mine off this afternoon and received great service from my local Chevy dealer. Mine was the first to arrive after the bulletin release so it took them a few minutes to read through the procedures. Inspection revealed that my initial diagnosis was correct and the pan replacment procedure is required. I also had the dealer check a suspicious weld on the passenger side that looked, sounded and acted like a pin hole leak. Leak was confirmed so that will be fixed also. Parts are on the way but we'll miss out on Friday Test and Tune this weekend. My new ride is a very nice 2016 Equinox. Oh yeah, and I asked for the Android software update so my Son's phone would work a bit better. Overall, it's going well at this point.
Thanks again to all that posted the info and let me get a bit ahead of the rush. I had a 1000 mile trip planned next weekend and an oil pressure loss would not make a great "Tales from the Road" story. |

So compared to trz's photo below, my pan appears to be different...I think I might be good to go.
TRZ: Mine is like F N MUSCLE's: Here is mine:
