Loved my Bose system in my Avalanche, but the best factory system I ever had was the lexicon system in my Genesis sedan!

Of course. Changing out the speakers then not amplifying them is a complete waste of money.

I have to agree here. The Genesis sedan system is legit. It's 18 speakers with a dedicated sound processor similar to what you would use from the aftermarket.

I'm sure it sounded fine but what a waste of $ and space. All you need is a decent set of components, deadened doors, an amp and a sub for good sound quality. |

It's probably 9 speakers, but they're co-axial so they just call it 18 for marketing.

http://hyundai.lexicon.com/broucher/...n_Brochure.pdf Granted, I'm sure the factory sub will leave you wanting if you are used to aftermarket products. Also, one of the big knocks on it is that it does not get all that loud, but that isn't a problem for me. Last edited by mt3130; 06-24-2015 at 10:43 AM. |

Well yea, based on that it only has 8 speakers + sub. It's just marketing. Doesn't matter if they're co-axials or not, a 3-way speaker is just one speaker. It has 3 drivers, it's still just one speaker though.

The Bose system is ok but could have been much much better. Charge a bit more if you must but at least give us out moneys worth.

Speaking of the OEM stereo, did they finally add HD Radio & RDS standard? I mean in 2016, if you are going to include AM/FM, this is a no brainer, IMHO!
Granted some of this becomes obsolete with CarPlay and the like, but still.

We won't know specific standard and optional features for another couple of months. But I agree - it's 2016, HD radio should be standard on all cars by now. |

Someone on the other speaker thread said that the 2016 Camaro is getting the 11 speaker Bose Centerpoint. Which looks to be the same as the Impala.
http://chevroletforum.com/forum/impa...m-specs-62609/ Is the Impala's version, which has no Sub. However, the 2014 Corvette stingray has this one, which has a sub (and is advertised as 10 speakers) http://mms.businesswire.com/media/20...jpg?download=1 I don't think there's any official information about what the Camaro is getting yet though, other than it is Bose. |
