Today I took my car to work which I rarely do, it’s mostly a weekend car. Anyhow I’m on the freeway going about 70 and my worst nightmare comes true. A very loud 5.0 accelerates right up next to me and then matches my speed. There is a car in front of me and I’m glad for that as there’s no temptation to do anything idiotic. He stays right next to me so I finally turn my head and he rolls down his window, waves downshifts and is gone. It was actually kind of cool.

I had this happen once pretty early on when I first got my LT1. 5.0 had to have at least an axle back it was stupid loud. Anyways needless to say I gave him the sauce and that was that on he went with his little crew down the highway lol

Mustangs are so commom IMO. That and the fact that the Mustang has a very slim interior. It has no room and I remember being very uncomfortable in it. The Camaro is much less common. Thats why this kid in the Mustang "rolled up on you". I'm so glad I bought a Camaro over tge commonplace Mustang. If it is a country road with no traffic...a few pulls would have been ok with me. But raci g is not ok. Its kind of a fine line to "drive in a spirited fashion" or to be "racing".
Did we not buy our cars for looks AND performance? Are we realistically going to drive 70 miles and pay $100 for 3 laps at Summit raceway? Plus the "tech" fees to re-certify my car every year as "mechanically sound"? It only has 7900 miles, and last year it had 7100. Why do I havd to pay $75 to pass tech again? So with gas to drive out there and back, gas to race, and paying all the fees its a $500 per weekend, that taps me out quick.

Buy a ZL1 and this won't happen..... I've had plenty of Furds roll up on me until they see the badge, they usually just give me a thumbs up and move on their way lol

I get compliments here and there but the car mostly blends in here in LA.
My buddy who is a driver at the Porsche Experience took it for a spin and absolutely loved it. We were sideways most of the time on a mountain road. Normally this would be code brown but with a pro driver behind the wheel it was thrilling.

Another friend has a modded '14 C63 and a 996. He's a bit of a snob and throws shade, mostly because he can't keep up with me and has spent thousands of dollars on the C63 and can't catch a LT1 with all seasons on a mountain road. The Camaro build quality is worse than the benz and porsches.. but keeping up with the latest german metal, or beating them NEVER gets old. Camaros are for true drivers who don't care about the 'scene' in my opinion.

It was fairly cool (for July in NC) early on Monday evening, so I was driving with my windows down. There was the guy in a VW sedan beside me. We were side by side through a couple of stoplights. As we slowed down for the next light I let off the gas at about 3k rpms and the exhaust started cracking and popping (I was in Sport mode). I heard him yell out "Damn" as he moved into the left turn lane. This car always seems to get attention.

Positive comments so far . Lots of Mustangs and Challengers around here , and one other 2021 Camaro.
An LT1. Shadow Gray. Same color as mine . Sharp car if I do say so .

Still zero negativity, not a single thunberg, to this day. Last time it was a Shelby GT350 owner who we shared some mutual appreciation of each other's car with.

Same where I live, I see 7-8 Mustangs for every Camaro, so it feels good having a car that isnt so common.

Coming out of an AM/PM with my daughter on a Slurpy run, and a guy in an old work truck leans out his window and says "Nice car"

Good:
It was dusk with the top down….. stopped at red light while a car pulls past on the left. A teenage girl hangs out the window and yells, ‘I f$&king love your car!’

Bad:
At a red light…top down. A rusty old F150 pulls next to me. Scraggly looking guy riding shotgun says, ‘shoulda bought a Mustang.’
I turned and said, ‘I could afford something better, so I bought this instead.’
I suppose I should be glad he didn’t spit tobacco juice at me.

All this Mustang chatter, had to chime in. Simple and positive experience, actually. Got the 'peace sign' wave coming out of a red light from a dude in a really nice looking newer one not too long ago. I was like, eh??? Did the same back though!

I know he was just jealous
