Electric Copo Run 9.83@134 at Winternationals

This is pretty cool in my opinion, GM brought this car to SEMA saying it would run in the 9s and it sure did. Packing the front tires out about 100 ft just shows how much torque this 3500 lb ECopo makes.

It's cool and it takes skill to get any drag car to that time and speed but i just can't get into electric motor drag cars.

I need to hear and feel that engine!

I am old school but I think this is really cool. Something eerie about watching a silent camaro making a 9 second pass.

Well in relative terms - a P100D runs 10.3s with another 1000lbs, 300 miles of range and has a warranty. The Roadster is predicting to run 8.8 when it is released late this year. These are production cars that you can buy, warranty and drive on the road.

I mean - its "neat" to me, but in perspective to what the other companies are doing with the technology is far beyond what GM is trying to do.

The C8 is going to have an AWD capability with the front drive being electric - and they are having McClaren develop it. That is the company who is really innovating the technology for the rest of the industry.

I thought the fastest p100d was in the mid 10 range? And that was after being completely gutted?

And the future looks completely dismal in my opinion. I just feel like why bother when a Tesla can beat anything we do? Anyone can just go out and buy one and laugh. Now I will say I think Tesla claims are way often overrxaggerated especially since they have the support of "do-gooders" to back them up. This is compounded by the fact tuning is ending, it would be one thing if you could tune a Tesla but they have over the air updates they'll be no hacking them.

Was very impressed . Imagine running in stock eliminator or super stock and having zero maintence to do . While we all like the roar of a V8 this is awesome.
Don garlits has an electric dragster running 2 seconds quicker . If you seriously dont like this , you havent driven in one . I was skeptical until two years ago i drove in a tesla and was hooked . Speed is speed and if it accelerates like a raped ape any car guy will love it .

I've been drag racing for 51 years and when I posted this I didn't think of one thing, when your getting chased and you think you have the guy covered you get passed right in the traps. Lots of times you can hear the guy coming because of open headers, this one ain't letting you know you just got your ass busted by a bunch of batteries or an electric motor. You can't hear it in the burn out box but in the trap you just see the brake lights. I'm not promoting this electricity thingy but its evident we will see more swooosssshing things in the future at the track. Myself I want to hear this car making power and feel the car pulling like a freight train thru the traps. I think it would be cool to drive one but still don't think I'd buy one or drag race one.
