Bad News: I am a coach, and right before we closed, we travelled to a big four day competition with thousands of people. When I got back I got sick as a dog. Two weeks later and I am still coughing up a lung. I never had a fever, and our country has a third-world public health system, so I can't get tested. But I have been self-isolating the whole time. I am diabetic so I am just focusing on controlling blood sugar and trying to heal.

Overall I still feel lucky. I am slowly getting better and my job is secure. If you are still getting paid remember to pay it forward as much as you can. I am going out of my way to spend money on local businesses, tipping a minimum of $20 on all delivery food, and if I can get a clean bill of health I want to help distribute supplies.

TL;DR: Job is secure but it probably gave me COVID-19.
Get well soon this country needs good teachers.

On another note, since no more dine-in, a local pizza joint is showing nightly movies on the side of their building you can watch while enjoying your pizza, or anything else you want to bring, from the comfort of their parking lot. Bringing back the drive-in!

I'll be sure to tell my gf when she goes back to her packed ICU on Wednesday that this is all made up.

Good luck with that.

Using the Ignore function (found in the User Control Panel under Settings & Options) will help keep this - and several other topics - much more bearable.

98.6% chance of survival.... Those numbers sound pretty good if ur in the 98%. There's about 320million in the US, let's say half get sick and of those half 99% make it.... That's still about 1.6million ppl getting taken out by this and that's only in the US. I'm sure we'll see how it all plays out soon.
Friends I have in other countries seem to be taking this much more serious than people I know here in the States. For now I'll just try to play it safe.

Not terrified here...not hiding in the basement either....don't recommend anyone else do that unless you're in one of the high risk categories. I've been to the grocery for normal purchases, picked up prescriptions, hit several local restaurants and got carryout (keep your local restaurants and others in business with carryout when you can, folks), taken the dog different places for extended walks.

Along with the inability to be "in the shop" (my classroom) teaching my kids (many of whom aren't the best and brightest) how to use machines and equipment to hopefully help make them employable upon graduation, the biggest personal issue that sucks for me is the fact that I can't go visit my 87 year old mother who is in an assisted living facility for Alzheimers....I worry daily that by the time the "all clear" is given, she will have slipped to the point she no longer remembers who I am.

Here's hoping things take a rapid turn for the better for ALL of us.

I know this subject is considered off topic but it very much affects my Camaro. If I'm layed off for an extended period I'd have to sell it.

That's my plan also. My job is secure right now but we have a supply chain we depend on for raw materials some are overseas.

So far they both have no symptoms I Dread my 12 year old daughter getting this. So I’m trying to hang in there but if the lungs start to go south I’m heading to hospital.

Thanks for all the kind words. I’ll update soon
Any updates?
