I did as well. From 1974-1986 and again from 2001-2007. I miss it sometimes though, mainly because the second time I lived upstate (Oneonta, Delhi, and Amsterdam), and it was absolutely beautiful up there, especially in the summer. The Catskill area is amazing. It's a totally different world than the city or Long Island, where I lived until 11 yrs old. But the state still rears it's ugly head into your business by over regulating, overtaxing, and just generally being overinvolved.

I remember there being a fee, tax, or overly complicated process for damned near everything. People love their government involvement up there. THAT is one thing I do not miss.

I hear you. I was in the Finger Lakes region (Ithaca-Cortland) and about an hour from Watkins Glen from 2000-2019. Like you say, beautiful scenery. It was low rural population. Just winters so damn long and overreaching govt.

I am already bored with the disaster of the month. Time to choose a new one.

Different topic...same principal.

And 0% of the people 19 and under get hospitalized.

Sounds like you are already trying to cya that this your apocalypse that didn't happen. Vaccines on the way and malaria medicine that is common (think I have some in the bathroom cabinet from traveling before) looks to cure it.

The problem with people who enjoy spreading panic is they don't pay up for the millions now out of work or having a 50% reduction in salary. That won't quickly bounce back, some is forever gone.

Why do you think the big 3 shut down their factories now? It wouldn't have anything to do with the panic and people not buying a new car or truck would it? Now they get out of union contracts not allowing them to layoff people for lack of sales. Now it is because of the wuhan apocalypse so you can't sue for layoffs and permanent factory closures.

Since we're all WAY out in left field here on the thread. Discussing mortality rates, hospital rates, political opinions, etc. how about we get back to the initial thread topic.

The COVID-19 has caused my job that requires frequent travel to keep me at home until further notice. I can still make some trips here and there, but pretty much if I can make it home at night I'm supposed to do that, even if that means a crazy long day. So my territory of the entire US is pretty much shrunk down to MO, IL, northeastern AR, southeastern IA, maybe a little of western IN, and that's about it. Oh well, it gives me the chance to catch up on computer work when the network isn't overloaded from all of the remote users.

Same here. I have 11 states to cover. We’re wishy-washy about car travel. No air travel at all. But I’m 63.5 years old. My old ass is hunkered down!

I don't turn 35 for a couple more weeks, but I'm still keeping my head as low as I can at 7' tall. I'm not living scared, but I'm not taking a bunch of "risks" either.

As for the travel, air is strictly out, but they've even discouraged vehicle travel at this point. If it's not necessary, don't do it. That's ok though. Many of my larger customers have said, if we don't call you to come visit us, don't until this blows over. Not like we could take them out to lunch or anything anyway. It'd be like going to Sonic. Get your food and sit in your truck.

UAW wanted them shut down for the safety of the workers it wasn't sales related.
