I am going to run a JL 12" with some old school amps using the stock system. Might change the front speakers depending on how they sound after adding the amps.Name: JL 12 Box.jpg

Got it installed. Took me a few hours trying to workout cable length etc. I think I still may have made it a little short, the harness was super easy to use. Used blue power cable to ground the amp to the battery but red and black heat shrink to differentiate them. The provided ground was way too short.

I wasnt sure whether to set the sub to speaker level or rca input. Technically its rca input but the harness taps into speaker level if I'm not mistaken.

Also not sure what to tune and set it to so I have some research to do.

It fits perfectly snug under the rear shelf. Going to see if it moves any under driving conditions. Right now it bumps with bass boost at 0 with certain songs. Havent installed the bass knob yet. Ran out of time, the wife needed the garage lol.

Very pleased with this budget bass option so far and I still have the longest part of my trunk of needed.

Thanks everyone for the help!

are you doing a aftermarket deck?
nice! i like it! those are some solid amps you got there they don't make em like that anymore.
i just wrapped up a system change up i removed my 10's today and built a enclosure for 1-12 it's a 2000 RF HX2.i squeezed it in high and kinda tight in a effort to leave me as much trunk space as possible ported to 35htz 38in wide 9.5in deep and 14in high after woofer displacement i got 1.75 cubes.it's all old school Fosgate i'll throw some pics up later.

That's how mine looks except I have the speaker port facing rearward. I want to get the Kicker GM plug and play amp for it as well since I have the base non-mylink radio.

I've got the Rockford and faced my speaker toward the rear as well. Just thought it sounded a bit better

Facing mine towards the rear has introduced some crazy rattle but it does sound better. Hmmmmmm

1-12 is easy and plenty of bass.my equip is old and was alot of money even by today's standards. in 1999 my stuff was around 2200 (3372 in today's money)
but you can do the same now for around 550.for 20 years i've been rocking my RF power bd1000a1,RF power 500a2 don't expect that from todays cheap china and korean made stuff,hx2 12 ported to 35htz and a set of RF fanatic q components+pioneer AVH-2300NEX stinger 6000 series rca's and stinger ofc 1/0.pure ear candy!

Been running a single 10" w/300 w amp with factory system since 2015. Enhances the BA just enough for me. In my youth I'd have maybe changed out the factory speakers....but Im getting older...and you dont need 1500 w to listen to Frank, Sammy and Dean.

My cheap 10" has broken in and it's perfect. I'm running it on the drivers side facing the passenger side and it has the best sound and produces the least rattle. Very pleased, it can be very loud if needed shakes the whole car.

Kept the BA system stock. The only limitation is the crap radio reception but everything else plays perfect.

i'm 50 and not letting go of the music i am doing more like 800 watts at full volume but i can't handle it at full volume.i tried to leave the BA amp and was highly unsatisfied that don't mean anyone else has to feel the same as me i am not winning any spl competitions but i have awesome sound quality. it's like having 800hp on tap how often do ya really use 800hp on the street?? not often at all but it's nice to have if there....

Been happy with the Rockford Fosgate Powered Sub. Not sure if it's the 8 or 10 but it was an easy install and works great.
