As for the crank bolt, yes a long cheater bar, and put some heat on the bolt, this will help. I had someone help do my whipple (M6), in gear and I stood on the brake to. The bolt slowly let go after getting some heat on it to soften up the silicone or what ever is put under the head of the bolt from the factory. And you will need a puller to remove and install the new balancer.

From Step #41 it looks like the SCT saves and then "enhances" the original tune.
