Headlight and Foglight won’t work!
Hey, so about a few weeks back both my taillights and passenger headlight stopped working. Passenger headlight and “foglight” just completely out (both blinkers still work in front) and the taillights.. well one the blinker works the other does not, one the brake light works one does not, so on and so forth with EVERY SINGLE FUNCTIONAL LIGHT ON THE TAILLIGHT UNIT (apart from reverse lights those both work). Now I bought a replacement bulb thinking I had a burnt one and I bought a pair of replacement taillight housings because as I found out after taking them apart to see what kinda bulb they use... well they don’t. I got the replacement bulb for the front and changed it last night. Turned the car on and nothing. So I took out the bulb from drivers side thinking I got sent a defective product. I tried the new bulb on the other side and it worked. Then I started getting nervous and thought of the original passenger side bulb and decided to check it out on drivers side and sure enough IT WORKED. So now I’m returning this headlight and I’m praying the taillights aren’t some how having the same issue. Anyone have any idea what could be causing the front headlight and “foglight” to act this way? Anyone know how to fix it? I would appreciate it very much. Thank you

I am not the original owner believe the 2nd. I have checked the fuses and unfortunately they were both okay. Even tried throwing on new fuses... nada.

If you're not the original owner, the very first thing I would do is check with a dealership to see if it's still covered under the bumper-to-bumper warranty and go that route if it is.

No longer covered under any of the warranties. I think I might have to just take it in and get it looked at, but I was thinking maybe try and change the housing see if that’s the issue? Even then it sort of doesn’t make sense because the little led strip fog light doesn’t work either. If I were to not take it into the dealership, what sort of shop should I look into for this issue?

She is bone stock everything on the car came with the car. I do plan on mods and aftermarket parts, but only after I’ve figured out what the issues are.

Electrical / wiring can be a giant pain. You could try checking the wiring harnesses where the connect to the back of the housing to see if power is making it there. If not, my guess would be some sort of issue with the wiring harness.
A Chevy dealer should be able to tell you if there's a common harness or control module somewhere that could be bad based on which lights/functions do and don't work per light. |

Appreciate it! I’ll contact them and see if there’s anything to do. Meanwhile I’ll check too see if the harness is getting power. Thanks again!

Update
Sooo update uhh I tried checking the harness but I just looked at it confused as hell and gave up. Now I had also mentioned my taillights having issues as well. Those were OEM. I decided to replace the housing units with aftermarket ones. To no avail. Left side blinker DOESNT work, yet everything else will (the brake light on the left might not work either not too sure), and the right side taillight, well blinker works, break light work and the rest are not responsive. I’ve checked all fuse boxes and went through every fuse related to the taillight, headlight, foglight etc. All in good condition. Oh one more thing, reverse works on both.

Try stopping in to the parts department and ask the person behind the counter if they could try and determine if there's a common harness or module that would be tied to -all- of the individual lights that are giving you problems. If they're busy, ask them if they could look into it when they have 10 minutes and call you. If you're looking to buy parts for a repair, it's in their best interest to try and help...

Here is a wiring diagram. Go to page 56 and it has the exterior light wiring there.

Will do, thank you all for the help. It’s my first car, so these tips are all helping things go way easier. Thanks again!
