Welcome to Canada, Home of the $100+ Camaro Fill-up

Knew the day would come but it still pisses me off to no end and makes me shake my head a producing nation pays as much as we do for our fuel. We know it will never change as the fuel companies call the shots while the government sits idly by and watches the increased tax revenues roll in. Pulled into the PetroCan the other day and the car was loooow on gas. Pre-authorized the credit card for $100 like always and it reached the $100 before the tank was full. 94 octane @ $1.519 Guys with trucks have felt this for awhile already but now it's making its way into the realm of regular sized tanks. It won't make me change my driving habits as I knew when I bought the car what to expect but I can only imagine how tough it must be for those trying to make ends meet already.

I've been paying $1.579 for the last couple months now... with the latest hike its like $1.62/L for 93/94 octane.

With that said...all you people who run Ultra94...i noticed that i regularly get 50-70km's LESS per fill up of Petro 94 vs Esso 93.

I now exclusively run Esso 93. If im gonna pay this crazy amount for gas, I might as well gett the most out of it that I can!

If you fill the tank slowly believe it or not you will get more fuel in the tank than at a fast rate. I didn't believe this until I tested it both ways my self.

Make sure you sign up for Petro Points and save 5 cents a litre on every fill.

BTW my most expensive fill so far is $78 from just under a 1/4 tank.

I only keep 1/2 a tank in the 99TA because its mostly a track car.

Tom can you explain how this 5c/L off with petro points works? I have had a pertro points card since I can remember and the only time I've been able to get 5c/L off was if if bought one of those 5c/L OFF cards thats good for up to 200L worth of fuel. It costs something like 3000 petro-points to buy one of those cards.

Exactly make sure you swipe it every time or give it to the attendant, also do the surveys once in a while for bonus points and sign up for their emails to get even more ways to collect.

Just wait....our new Fiberal government said they WOULD NOT increase taxes on fuel so that is almost a guarantee that they will.
