Question about e85 tune

So when you get your car tuned for e85, can you switch maps easily when you need to run straight gas? I know on the BMW jb4 it would auto-tune to whatever you had in the tank, which is fantastic. I know I could flash back to the stock tune but can it be done on the fly without pulling out the hp tuner and reflashing. Can you switch tune files from in the car easily?

With The GM flex fuel sensor in line the tune will automatically adjust as it senses the ethanol level in the gas. You can run any mixture of ethanol and regular pump gas that you like. Of course the best performance will be as the fuel approaches the 85% ethanol level.

Where is the best place to buy the flex fuel sensor & is it easy to install?
What do you need to tune for this?

So just to clarify because you said any mixture, it will adjust to even 100% gas no e85 at all? I would defiantly go with Jannetty racing for my tune , I hear good things and they are close to new york. So I could bring the car in probably instead of doing remote tuning

Yes, that is correct. After it's tuned it will auto correct for 100% 93 pump gas or E85 or blended mix.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I only got a CAI on it so far; I wonder how much power I would gain from just e85. Maybe it's not worth it unless I do heads and long tubes. I am pleased with the stock exhaust sound. I would love to keep the car sounding OEM and add an extra 60whp or so lol. I was leaning at a supercharger, but now I am thinking do I really want to add 100lbs to the car.

Keep in mind E85 requires a new tune and will void your powertrain warranty.

Thanks, I am defiantly aware of that. I know Diablo sports tuner is undetectable, a couple of tuners do CMR custom tuning for it also. But I am not sure if it will work for an e85 tune. I also included a pic of my beast lol. Still have to install my ACS rock guards, letting the ceramic coating cure on them

I would recommend HPtuners or EFI live. These are the only 2 tuning platforms worth owning.

The Skid Mark Garage E85 kit is just as nice as the DSX and is about $150 cheaper and is fully OEM sensors, connectors and plug and play.

As said, HP Tuners or EFiLive are the best ways to tune it, I would take it to someone who has access to those programs. Have them do your gas tune first, leave about 7 gallons in the tank and then have them do the E85 tune after they finish the gas tune and you fill the tank up with E85.
